This review is from: ONKYO TX-NR818 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver – Black
Pros: Nice for an update from my old separate 5.1
The receiver is DNLA and HDMI friendly. Sound is good if not great (depends on complete system and what you like.) The up-scaling and other features I am still learning that this thing carries is amazing.
Cons: 280 plus page instructions.. heck I am old school engineer and at the point I want to just press one button. But once you get this thing set up it is great.
Other Thoughts: Make it a one chip solution next timeREAD FULL REVIEW
Pros: Worked for 6 months of use. Less than 20 Blu Ray Burns.
Was not $200
Black matched my case.
Hardware mounting was correct and matched my case. lol
Cons: Worked for 6 months of use. Less than 20 Blu Ray Burns.
At the one year unit mechanical movement died. Disk would not spin up or tray open. Electrical Interface established Firmware reed back and no failure reported. No Oat-mill was ever installed in disk tray. Never used the device other than to Burn a few backups and share videos. Maybe lack of use but highly doubt it.. Do this fault isolation stuff for a living (many years wiper snappers) ASUS website for returns led me to a blank page so I missed the warranty return period. New egg no help even though loyal customer since 2003.
Other Thoughts: Too the bozo below the specifications list the following that this item includes;
Pros: Great Hard Drive. No problem with windows 7 clean install
Cons: Missed the rebate due to Xmass gift and rebate lapsed 3 days ago. like WT frig I understand it is my responsibility to go through the hoops to get the rebate. But the way you OCZ and others are playing the game does not seem fair! Product still is on rebate but different window of time. What is this 21 days the calculation that is factored that most people will miss the deadline? Kind of reminds me there used to be a law that protected consumers when a product was on sale all year round!
Other Thoughts: Well this is the first Rebate I lost through time exasperation.
But Not the first that OCZ has managed not to pay me. I purchased some DDR400 a few years ago at high dollar and never seen that $30 rebate. Newegg was great and offering me a discount on my next purchase so thumbs up Newegg.
OCZ u are not the only player.
