This review is from: MSI AM1I AM1 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Mini ITX AMD Motherboard
Pros: Nice features, all solid caps, full-length PCI-e slot. Good price.
Cons: Terrible Realtek LAN chip on any non-Windows OS, will frequently not negotiate a gigabit connection with known-good cables (or even with a cable that worked the day before).
Save yourself some trouble and get an Intel gigabit PCI-e card, if you can. Unfortunately, that basically doubles the price of the motherboard.
Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for, I guess. It is a cheap board, but I'd happily pay for a reliable NIC.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: - Fast transfers
- Good heat dissipation
- No noise
Cons: - Activity light is insanely bright, it looks like a strobe in a dark room. Fixed with some black duct tape or electrical tape.
- The USB cable's connection on the drive end isn't that tight, may need reinforcement if you plan on being in motion a lot.
Pros: High throughput, high IOPS, great reliability. No firmware updates needed at this time.
Other Thoughts: Did a lot of research before purchasing, and very pleased with the results.READ FULL REVIEW
