Pros: Crucial brand, so you know what to expect.
Installed (physically) with no problems and no issues in the BIOS setup either.
Timings are exactly as advertised.
Other Thoughts: Satisfied with the product I received and the price I paid. Exactly what I've come to expect from Crucial over the years.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: - 750w continuous output w/ peak over 800w.
- Lots of connectors..more than I'll ever need.
- Large fan is very quiet.
- Very stable output.
- Four +12v rails rated @ 40A each.
Cons: Cabling is a little long for my mid-tower but nothing a few cable ties can't fix. Might be the perfect length for someone with a full tower. Not really a "con", so I'm not deducting any eggs for it.
Other Thoughts: Bronze certification, plenty of power on the +12v rails for multi-GPU setups, and power output doesn't deviate very much from its rated specifications. Pretty efficient unit so there isn't a lot of excess power / heat generated either which helps keep case temps down.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: - Unlocked multiplier makes for easy overclocking.
- Great out of the box performance.
- Better "bang for the buck" performance that the 3-letter competitor.
Cons: - Stock HSF is a little lackluster.
- Didn't sing and dance for me when I opened the package.*
- Refused to make me breakfast even when I asked nicely.*
* Not really "cons".
Other Thoughts: OK, joking aside, this CPU has no cons as far as I'm concerned. Sure, it doesn't have HyperThreading, but I knew that and I don't require HT otherwise I would've gone with a 2600K.
The last time I purchased an Intel CPU was back in the late 90's (1998 or so) when the Pentium 2 came out. From that point until now I've been a devout AMD follower. I was building a new system and was looking again at AMD products and couldn't decide of I wanted a Phenom II X6 or if I should wait for Bulldozer. While weighing those two options I decided to check out the current batch of Intel CPU's. Once I saw the benchmarks for the 2500k, I knew that was going to be my next CPU even if it did cost a little bit more.
VERY VERY satisfied with this purchase and Newegg made it fast and easy every step of the way as always.
