This review is from: Shark NV356E Navigator Lift-Away Professional White
Pros: Everything comes apart to fit your needs, great for carpet and hardwood!
Cons: Can be a little confusing to figure out at first.
Other Thoughts: The Shark NV356E Navigator Lift-Away Professional vacuum doesn't just suck, it REALLY sucks and keeps on sucking, but don't worry you can adjust the suction to your desired need, which is just one of the many GREAT features on this vacuum!
Operating the Shark is like playing with a Transformer toy. It looks like a vacuum, but everything twists, turns and comes apart to turn it into the perfect vacuum to fit your needs.
Since owning this vacuum, my wife has not used it once. It's so light weight and easy to use, I pull it out of the closet all the time and run it throughout the house. The swivel head makes it VERY easy to get under the end tables, around the chairs and anywhere else that's needed! With a 30' power cord I can continue vacuuming without having to change outlets every few feet. For the stairs and really hard to reach places (like the tops of the curtains), with a couple of snaps, I just transform it to the Portable Lift-Away mode and I'm off and running. While the Portable Lift-Away mode is not very heavy (probably around 12 pounds), there is some weight to it. This may prove to be difficult to carry for someone with arthritis in their hands and senior citizens.
The power button has three options; Brush Roll ON, Bare Floor and OFF. This makes it easy to switch back and forth when you're going from hard floors to throw rugs, back to hardwood and then carpeting.
The attachments are all strong plastic and seem like they'll last a while (the hose extensions on our old vacuum all cracked and were being held together with duct tape). It even comes with a nice little cloth bag to store all your attachments in.
Since this is a bagless vacuum, you just have to unsnap the canister and dump it out. Careful when doing this, you'll want to do it over a larger garbage can and probably outside or in the garage. The first time I did it, I ended up with more dust and garbage on the floor than I did in the can! The filters are also reusable, just rinse it under water and let it dry. So, there are NO maintenance costs associated with this vacuum.
A lot of people complain about the whining noise the vacuum puts out. Personally, I think our old vacuum was much louder and didn't do anywhere near as good of a job.
If you're in the market for a new vacuum that will work on hardwood floors, tiled floors and carpeting, check out the Shark NV356E Navigator Lift-Away Pro. It's a vacuum that sucks and will keep on sucking for you!
