StarTech MDP2VGA Mini DisplayPort to VGA Video Adapter Converter
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

4 out of 5 eggs Great for Asus Trans T100T 04/14/2014

This review is from: StarTech MDP2VGA Mini DisplayPort to VGA Video Adapter Converter

Pros: Gives me video and sound on external monitor through VGA cable and speakers for Netflix and XBMC for reasonable price over buying 19" TV to get hdmi input. Was able to use my existing 720p monitor and speakers.

Cons: Short cable from PC leaves adaptor hanging in the air with my setup. This stresses the connector to the PC.

Other Thoughts: Just what I wanted.

Pros: Not too big, quiet, idles nicely at just over 100 f but gets pretty hot when playing civ5. I would not call it cool under load but enough air circ should work out OK. Great deal for media playback and some gaming and it is quiet!

Cons: Runs fairly hot under load, needs good air circ.

Pros: It was easy to put together and a fun little machine while it lasted. It was a nice little desktop PC and ran Internet, Office, etc just fine. I was even able to play Civ 5 on it.

Cons: It died after 8 months. Just stuck on bios screen and eventually didn't even show a picture at all. It was never fast enough to show 1080 video and had trouble running netflix at 720p reliably. It always ran very hot when running any game or showing video. I'm debating if it is worth buying another stick of ram to test with.
