This review is from: MSI X99S SLI Plus LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: -decent board at a decent price
-Works fine after updating bios to v1.8
-5820k oc to 4.6ghz @ 1.285v on this board
-xmp profile from memory kit doesn't raise blck to 125 mhz like on other boards.
Cons: -the 4 VIA usb 3.0 ports only runs at 2.0, Tried to reninstall drivers with the same results. So the only ports that do run at 3.0 speeds are the 2 asmedia and 2 intel ports. So false advertisement from MSI or VIA usb 3.0 are terrible.
-I have no idea how the 100mhz, 125mhz, 167mhz straps are beneficial because there is no option in bios to change to those specific blck settings. You can type it in manually.
-Couldn't boot from windows cd when I set the boot priority to CD/DVD drive. You have to set the boot priority to UEFI CD/DVD.
-Longer boot time compared to my previous z77 build, unless you enable MSI fast boot and Windows 8/8.1 features.
Other Thoughts: Still a decent board for its price. For some reason every MSI board I've had always had compatabilty issues with mouse and keyboard at initial boot. Either it be from the z77 mpower to the x99s sli, I always had to update bios.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: NVIDIA SHIELD Portable
Pros: -Stream games away from Pc
Cons: -350mbps for 5ghz channel
-can only connect through channel 149 and up for 5ghz
Other Thoughts: Its a decent device that can stream games when your not in your room or simply just laying in bed. The shield can only receive 350mbps for 5ghz; So if your looking for a dual band router dont buy the overly expensive 1350mbps or even 800 mbps for the 5ghz channel.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm
Pros: Same performance as a high end Air cooler.
Cons: If you currently have Noctua Nh-d14, you dont need this unless you care about what the inside of your case looks like
Other Thoughts: - Only lasted 8 months the fan header/plug broke off easily ; noticed one of the fans on the rad wasnt working then I tried unpluging and repluging the fan connector on the block. Then it fell through; switched the fan connector the the other plug and the h100i wouldnt work.
Rma is a pain. Called customer service; was on the phone 30-40 min waiting. After the phone call finished i went to my local computer store to buy a replacement heatsink and when i got everything installed and working I found out the Corsair Customer service rep dint even start the RMA process. I was infuriated because why did I wait on the phone for 40 min.
