This review is from: CHAINTECH AV-710 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Card
Pros: Cheap 7.1
Cons: Pops at high volumes
Other Thoughts: at 50%+ volume, there are loud pops when a wave is over 50% of max amplitude. I've had much better sound built into a motherboard. Only buy this card if you have externally amplified speakers or monitors.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Athenatech Silver/ Charcoal Steel A100SC.350 Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case
Pros: If you like having a small computer, but are on a budget, this case is an excellent compromise. It is considerably smaller than normal Micro ATX cases, yet still has all four expansion slots and a decent power supply. All for a very reasonable cost. The case is partially tool-less, and has enough room for a larger-than-OEM CPU heatsink/fan.
Cons: The power-supply is not a standard size, so replacing it will be quite a pain.
Other Thoughts: If you don't have the budget for a shuttle, this is the next smallest thing.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ECS P4M900T-M V1.0 LGA 775 VIA P4M900 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: Cheap C2D
Cons: Very low sound output, low overclock potential, Linux dmraid does not detect the chipset's arrays
Other Thoughts: ECS is a brand to go with, but this VIA chipset is not. Personally, this is my first and will be my last experience with VIA chipsets.READ FULL REVIEW
