HooToo® HT-UH009 10-Port USB 3.0 Hub (12V/4A Power Adapter, Latest VIA VL812 Chipset, 3.3 feet USB 3.0 Cable)

Pros: Pretty straightforward, it's a USB hub. It works at least for USB2. I don't yet have a laptop capable for USB3 (it's coming soon!). The case is surprisingly solid and sits flat on the desk easily.

I use the hub as part of a simplified docking system and it does very well.

Cons: The included USB3 cable could be a little longer, I suppose. I don't see a need for a power button or blue LEDs but they don't hurt anyone being present.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST31500341AS 1.5TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5

Pros: Big whopping drive...

Cons: ... that will lose all your data.

I bought two of these drives and they have both begun "clicking". They don't respond to the OS for periods of several seconds and after enough of these incidents, they stop responding altogether. A hard power cycle might enough to clear it but that's only sufficient to copy your data elsewhere.

SMART doesn't seem to give any hint that a drive is about to enter the click death spiral either.

Other Thoughts: Google "ST31500341AS click" for more info.

Rosewill RSD-CR106 Black USB 2.0 External Single slot SD / MMC Card Reader

Pros: + Easy way to rid yourself of perfectly functioning SDHC cards

Cons: - SDHC cards locked up Windows hard, reported IO errors in Linux, and I think, killed one of my SDHC cards
- Lanyard loops are comically small, this won't fit on any keychain or string.
- Easy-to-lose caps. Not hinged or tied to anything.

Other Thoughts: This went into the wastebin nearly the same day I got it and deeply regret ever buying this thing.

I'd send it back but it cost about as much to ship as it did to buy.
