ASUS PB287Q Black 28
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: To the guy who's saying a capacitor is popping:

1. Mute your monitor, it will stop.

2. It's not a capacitor, it's a lack of bandwidth in DP 1.2 for SOUND as well as 4K CONTENT. Pretty sure 9/10 people would agree giving up terrible monitor sound is worth playing in 4k, again, mute the speakers in the monitor.

3. It will be fixed when DP is upgraded to a new standard.

4. The black/cutting out has been fixed in SLI. If you're considering this and see people saying that, it was fixed. It was fine before, just not with SLI, but now it's fine either way. If you want 4k, buy this thing.

Cons: NA

Other Thoughts: NA

5 out of 5 eggs People giving it bad reviews need to look into it more... 07/24/2014

This review is from: ASUS PB287Q Black 28" 4K UHD 1ms 10-bit HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor height&Pivot adjustable 300 cd/m2 100,000,000:1

Pros: So after reading the negative reviews, I have to say, you people need to dig a little deeper before you cut into sales of a good product.

Washed out color: Yeap, in 1080p, it sure is. Probably because its not made to be run in 1080p. Put it in 4k, splendid, tweak the nvidia color profile a bit and it puts out the same color as my old IPS 2k panel.

Viewing angle: Awesome. Unless you're one of these people who apparently plays while sitting on the floor, standing next to it, or hovering in the air looking down. Really, the viewing angle is awesome... if you buy a surround 4k setup.. the ONLY time you could really notice, you are just too rich and need to send me money.

Black flickering/popping: SLI, SLI, SLI. It was SLI. It was not the monitor. Nvidia even made a statement on their forums that they were aware of the issue with this specific monitor, they will/have fixed it. You buy a cutting edge monitor, slap it on a SLI system, and don't expect bugs? Come on people...

Monitor gets stuck in sleep: Sure does, its a new technology method to give us 4k for this price. It's really that big of a hassle to turn sleep off? Maybe try pressing the power button, then turning it back on when you're back. Again.. come on.

Overall: I have no idea how this monitor has this many people buying it with such little tech knowledge. The reviews are absolutely disgusting for no other reason that ignorance. If you are a real tech geek, and want an amazing 4k experience, this monitor is everything you need.

For the price... no comparison hands down.

Cons: The only con is the people who have given this a bad rating because of their ignorance.

MSI Z97 MPOWER LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

5 out of 5 eggs Tons of power, very stable. OC Dream. 07/24/2014

This review is from: MSI Z97 MPOWER LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Nothing bad to say about this board. Have my 4790k runnning at 5.0ghz currently, rock solid voltage supplied. Also ran a 780ti KINGPIN at max voltage from PEX(PCI-E) and it was rock solid. If you know what you're doing, this board will back some heavy overclocks. Worth every penny compared to other boards in this price range.

Cons: Nothing

Other Thoughts: If you want power.. buy it. I've installed 5 different Z97 boards now and this one gives the most stable voltages.
