This review is from: AVerMedia C027 AVerTV HD DVR
Pros: Cheap PCIe x2 ($67 on sale), comes with useful cables. This is probably very handy for recording footage from tv, however, I didn't buy it for anything other than recording PS3 gameplay.
Cons: Unacceptable input lag. Feels like 1/3 to 1 second input lag when playing a game on my PS3 and recording. From my research there appears to be no way to fix this as it is the device itself. Splitting the video & audio signal from the game console might fix this, however, there'll still be some lag because of the splitter cable and tv.
Other Thoughts: I don't understand why all the top reviews claim there's no input lag. Maybe they're biased or have a different revision of the same product. Perhaps they're only recording footage from a non-gaming device.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: 4 2.5 inch spaces provided at the cost of 2 3.5 inch spaces in your computer case.
Cons: - DID NOT FIT MY SSD WHICH WAS 70MM WIDE.
- I took a rough measurement and it is only wide enough to fit a <= 69 mm 2.5 inch drive.
- The bay itself fit awkwardly in my Zalman Z11 plus case; it probably would be a terrible choice if I threw a spinning drive in the bay in my case.
Other Thoughts: tl;dr It's good enough for the job, but be warned, my bay DID NOT fit 2 out of 3 of my 2.5" drives I have on hand.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ZALMAN Z11 Plus Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Pros: -Looks great
-Nice side window
-Good air flow
-Side 80mm (4 pin) fans to air out HDD area + these are well muffled by case.
-tray on top to hold my SD cards and USB flash drives
Cons: -Front panel is very very difficult to remove (may require 2 people)
-slightly bent part of front panel during time I was removing + putting on
-Loud case fans (especially the 4 pin 120mm fans)
Although I do sit 1 foot away from my computer and my computer is level to my torso.
-USB 3.0 ports on front panel merely connect directly to USB 3.0 I/O ports on back of motherboard.
-a bit bulky
-top rear area of case is a bit weak - it's made of plastic
Other Thoughts: Got mine for $70 (after MIR) I've seen it a bit cheaper. Wouldn't recommend this case unless you really like the looks of it. Nothing terribly wrong with this case though.
Haven't actually installed a 3.5" HDD yet. Installed an 2.5" HD - it seems to work fine.
