Pros: Fast, reliable. Extremely affordable for a high-speed drive you can put most of your games on.
Cons: Should have bought two, when they were on deep-sale. Otherwise none at all. Can be "loud" to some, but in my Lian-Li there are sound dampeners, so I haven't heard a thing. Excellent HDD. It isn't going to boot faster than an SDD, but for a game drive, it is phenomenal.
Other Thoughts: I use a 256GB SSD for my OS and most used applications that I would like to load fast (Creative Suite, etc) and my Games/Steam folder on my VelociRaptor 500GB. It's enough Space for most of my games and loads quite fast. My big multi-platter 3-4 TB, slow 7200 HDDs are best for low-priority high-volume storage. I would suggest against installing an OS or high-priority partition on a slower drive.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: EDIMAX HP-5101K 500Mbps Nano PowerLine Adapter Kit Up to 500Mbps
Pros: Newegg delivered quickly, as usual. Good Price, if they worked.
Cons: Everything. I bought these because they are supposedly plug & play. My tech knowledge is average, but I'm not a network expert. The lights show good across the board, but the XBox it's connected to cannot access the network (when I go back to the extremely long and unsightly cat5e cable, it works like a charm again). It comes with a utility program, don't know if that helps at ALL as I'm using it to connect to a gaming system. The instructions are completely worthless, and the cables they come with were humorously short. Unless you are planning to put your HTPC/Gaming system within a foot of the electrical outlet. They may as well not package them and give you a couple more bucks off.
Right now, I have two light-weight bricks that will be shipping back shortly if I can't figure out why a pnp set cannot work. I'll try to update if it is fixed. Otherwise, would recommend against using these.
Pros: Easy to install, works. Fast. Inexpensive. Low latency for low voltage. Triple Channel is an excellent way to go. The "teeth" are in the not too high, and look like they promote efficient cooling that doesn't get in the way of air flow. I like the color and the look, but I have a windowless Aluminum Lian Li case--so nobody is likely too see them.
Also G. Skill's customer support and warranty are phenomenal. I've bought from them before and I will continue to.
Overall one of the best for the buck.
Cons: BIOS couldn't find the profile for XMP, but it's RAM, so not exactly hard. The timings are on the side of the stick(like most RAM), so easy fix.
Other Thoughts: 12 Gigs of RAM are about all you currently need to do just about anything you need to do--as far as memory is concerned--unless you are a 3D artist or are crazy at multitasking.READ FULL REVIEW
