Reply to critical review
Pros: As stated in the "most critical" review. Very fast, fast duplexing, easy setup. All good, and with the heavy discounts commonly available at Newegg, astoundingly cheap, even with expensive toner.
Cons: Yes, toner is expensive. But still, the differential cost isn't all that much more. Have experienced none of the "blows circuits, overheats" problems mentioned before. Accessories are expensive - an addon 500 sheet feeder costs more than the entire printer (at full retail!). There are only limited accessories/addons available; in particular, there's no addon WiFi adapter and only limited expansion memory.
Overall Review: With all the caveats mentioned before, this is sill a great deal. I printed a 750 page, duplexed, document, with no problems whatsoever. For me, it's a keeper.
Good, but VERY limited
Pros: Pretty good sound, nice to have a clock and wake-to-ipod feature, decent construction
Cons: It is *not* compatible with the 2nd or 3rd generation iPod Touch, no matter what they say - it won't charge the iPod without an adapter that costs more than this does. I've gone through two remotes, neither one works - I'll try the new battery trick next. Radio reception is purely horrible, not very usable at all.
Overall Review: At the Newegg discounted price, this isn't a bad deal, although the cons above make it less of a good deal than it might otherwise be. Don't expect much, and don't pay more than $30, and you'll be okay.
Great cheap DVD player
Pros: For the money, I can't think of anything that this player doesn't have that I want. Note that, despite some of the reviews here, this player does NOT have the USB input that some of the other players have. Neither is it "too wide". It's small, thin, and sleek, and I can't imagine where it would not fit. I've got it under my ASUS 24" monitor with HDMI, where it fits and works just fine - saves me the expense of buying a separate TV to watch my DVDs on, and has a little higher quality than PowerDVD or WinDVD have.
Cons: None so far, except that it might be a bit *too* small - I have to move my keyboard every time I want to put in a DVD.
Excellent printer, SUPER deal!
Pros: An outstanding deal, all in all. The low price and good performance would give it a 5 all by itself, the built-in wireless, networking, duplexing, and relatively cheap supplies make it a super-deal. I got it locally, instead of online through Newegg (sorry, but saves tons on shipping), and found it on sale for $329, so watch for deals wherever you buy it. I know Newegg has gotten that low, or close, anyway.
Cons: It's big and heavy. A lot bigger and heavier than I'd expected, and I couldn't fit it into my car without unpacking it first. My fault, though, for not thinking ahead. Aside from that, no cons whatsoever.
Overall Review: I got this for a friend of mine who's using it for semi-pro brochure printing, and no problems whatsoever so far. If you want a color printer, you can't do a whole lot better than this.
Excellent Utility case
Comments: I've built three systems for clients now using this case, and all of us, clients and me, are very happy with it. Handsome, good performance, easy to work with, and the built-in card reader make it an easy choice for an akk-round system. I'll certainly be buying more.
