Pros: The interfaces are very fast
Cons: Doesn't support 3TB drives. They show up as ~750GB. Tested this in Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit and Windows 7 64-bit. I don't have this issue with a retail 3TB external drive. As far as widespread availability, 3TB became more popular before USB 3.0, so this is a silly design flaw I didn't expect.
Other Thoughts: The piece I have is the same exact "item code" yet the box and unit itself appear different.
I'm not much of an "external drive guy" so I'm overall happy with this product for what I paid. This is a lesson though; if one is going to keep this much data, they should use a proper NAS or RAID system.
Pros: I rerate this memory to a 4/5 from 1/5 because I finally got it to work at 1066. I reflashed my BIOS, played with more settings, and ran memtest86+ 2.11 many times. The following settings finally made it work for me:
Read Data Transfer 5
Cons: Took many hours of tweaking to get it stable.
Other Thoughts: Motherboard is DFI ICFX3200-T2R/G
Memory Controller: ATI RD600
Processor: E7200 @ 3.4 GHz
NB Voltage is up 0.1
PCMark05 Memory Score in Win7 RC x64: 7030
Pros: It is shiney.
Cons: It won't run in my system at 1066 on a motherboard capable of 1066. I've tried different voltages and relaxed timings and can't get it stable. I've effectively overpaid for DDR2-800 and I'm stuck with it and out $60. Maybe someone else can get it to work.READ FULL REVIEW
