Pros: Inexpensive. Deals all the time on Newegg.
Cons: Rosewill products are usually good... but this one is the exception to the rule. Believe the reviews that say you get what you pay for with this product. The toner worked well while it worked. I bought two as a Shell Shocker. I was indeed shocked: one worked for about one-third the number of pages of an authentic Brother cartridge and one did not work at all. The Low Toner light came on almost immediately for the first and immediately for the second. I had had these awaiting the death of my real Brother cartridge (which lasted much longer than expected) and so it was too late to return them. Bottom line: the Brother cartridge had a higher purchase price but lower cost per page! Avoid this lousy Rosewill product.
Other Thoughts: Do not buy this. There are other generic alternatives that work better. Even the Brother cartridge, extortionately priced though it is, at least is not criminally non-functional like this one.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Nippon Labs Beige 15 ft. USB cable A/male to B/male Model 15ft USB-15-AB 15 feet
Cons: Does not work. Bought this for use as a printer cable. Did not work.
Other Thoughts: Maybe I can use it for rope or some other suitable purpose? I think Nippon is used to provide the false impression that these are a quality product of Japan. More likely the usual Chinese dross.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: High feature content for the price. Great specs. In theory should be a great machine.
Cons: Loses sight of all networks. Nonexistent HP support. Crummy trackpad without separate mouse buttons. Windows 8.1 is simply awful.
Other Thoughts: My Pavilion DV9933 lasted 6 years. I literally wore out a keypad and two track pads. The Envy is a different kettle of fish: it's got great specs but simply doesn't work. The wifi loses sight of all networks after anything between a few minutes and a few days.
Talked with HP tech support about two weeks after I bought the machine. He committed to taking the machine back for service for a KNOWN wifi problem. (It's all over the internet, too.) I just spent 2-1/2 hours trying to talk to HP. All of the techs were too lazy to look up the prior conversations and everyone provided a different idea. None of them responded to questions. It's like they knew enough English to read from the script but not enough to conduct a conversation with a real customer. I talked to 4 different tech specialists because HP is so cheap that the connection to India went down three times! Finally I told the fourth tech that I wanted to be escalated -- he said somebody would contact me in a day or two and then disconnected the chat. Don't let the specs fool you: the wifi will frustrate you to tears and HP won't stand behind their product. I got mine from octsoC so it's going back and then I will buy a machine from somebody else.
Stay away from this piece of junk.
