Pros: I bought this board to replace my existing i5 Gigabyte P55-UD4P board. This is a nice looking board with lots of options. It was easy to install and booted up immediately to the OS selection menu. My existing system is a dual boot with Win7/32 and Win XP/32. However this is where the problems started.
Cons: 1. When selecting either of the installed OS's, I got a BSD and immediate reboot. Error is: inaccessible device. After changing the HDD mode from AHCI to IDE, I was able to boot into both operating systems. After updating the BIOS to F7, Win7/32 booted with AHCI mode but not Win XP.
2. In attempting to install Win 7 64 bit on a separate HDD, it always fails to restart after completing up to the "completing installation" phase where it does and automatic restart. Always failed the same way even after disconnecting all other drives. Continually shows oxc0000225 error. Unrecoverable error. If I escape out I can boot up into Win 7/32 bit.
After thinking about this and researching online (fortunately, Win7/32 worked for this), I decided to disconnect the HDD from the Intel SATA port and connect to the Marvell SATA port and try to install again. This time, surprisingly, it worked!! Worked as it should, I now have three choices in the boot menu and I am successfully running Win 7 64 bit OS as well as Win 7 32 bit (XP still not working in AHCI mode}. I will now try the XP HDD with the Marvell controller and see if this works as well.
Please be aware that there are problems with the Intel SATA controllers which cause a clean OS installation to fail. Using the Marvell controller ports (2 provided) worked for me. I think now that the OS is installed I can change back to the intel controller port.
