This review is from: ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
Pros: The stock cooler on my AMD FX 8350 8 core CPU kept breaking the 70 degree C marker on idle due to proximity to a large, hot video card. This cooler keeps the temp at 45 degrees C on full load and idles around 36. Huge improvement
Cons: The copper is very sharp and I cut my hands in 3 places during install. The CPU fan connector and a couple other connections are under it, requiring that you touch these fins and risk injury.
The retaining bracket is tricky making this a high learning curve install, but it's not hard once you do one.
Wear gloves and have a bright flashlight that can be shined under the cooler.
Other Thoughts: This fan has an external dimmer switch to control its speed rather than having the 4th pin for motherboard RPM control. You'd think it would be cheaper to include that 4th pin rather than making an external switch. I don't like having to crank up the fan every time I play a game.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Least expensive drive on the market that 240GB. The latest firmware was already included on the drive. My boot time takes 1/4 of the time it used to, but most of that is probably due to a reinstall of windows than the drive.
Cons: Oddly enough, this drive shows up as "Toshiba SCSI Dsik Device" because it's made with Toshiba memory chips". There is no driver update (not that it needs one) but I'd prefer it to say Mushkin or Chronos. This is very minor.
Other Thoughts: Windows Performance gives this drive a 7.3. This is a huge step up from the two 120GB drives I had striped for speed which only got a 5.9 in Windows. It's now my highest rated hardware for speed.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: BIOSTAR TA790GX XE AM3/AM2+ AMD 790GX HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: This motherboard was paired with a Phenom X2 9850 Black edition process or and 4GB of Gskill PC2 9600 ram. It never crashes and runs windows 7 ultimate 64 bit like a charm. I also have raid 1 (Mirrored) hard drives and that works great too. I leave it running 24/7 and only have to reboot for windows updates every couple weeks.
Cons: I'm sure there is something but I don't use that feature.
Other Thoughts: This is a solid board for the money. You really can't beat this price for the power you get with AMD. True I'd love a core I7 but it's only a little faster and 3 times as expensive.READ FULL REVIEW
