G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: has XMP mode, Runs up to 2133 at stock settings, can be overclocked, and it was cheap.

Cons: So far I cant find any issues.

Other Thoughts: Most memory on the market is good. I think it comes down to options like XMP and stock heatsinks that really make or break a sale.
I am using it in a X79 Classified board at full speed on XMP 1 mode.

5 out of 5 eggs Cant be beat for $409 12/26/2013

This review is from: XFX R9290AENFC Radeon R9 290 4GB 512-Bit GDDR5 CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Its fast, this card will go toe to toe with the 290x,780 and the titan. Most bang for your buck. For $400 bucks you get the performance of a $700-$1000 card. Great driver support*. AMD is known for dropping the ball on drivers but they have knocked it out of the park this time around. They have been right on top of bugs and pushing increased performance with each update. Plays anything at ultra settings. Units scale well in crossfire and TriFire. ( I have Trifire.)

Cons: The market has swept up all the R9 cards b/c of litecoin. Venders have cranked up the prices and availability has become low,

Other Thoughts: Heat, its not an issue. Noise, not an issue.
Using the Overdrive software that comes with all AMD cards you just need to set the fan speed to 57-61% and only allow for a max temp of 65-70*.

My first AMD card since the Rage128 Pro. I normally use EVGA products.

No heat and no loud fans.

Pros: Fast, Cheap, Comes with BF4, Great driver support, Solid fan/heatsink, looks good, easy to adjust settings in AMD over drive.

Cons: doesn't come with a water block model like EVGA Hydro cards. However you can simply buy a EK block.

Other Thoughts: Ok lets get this over with, the Fan is loud at 100%. However if you leave your card in "uber mode" the card isn't very loud at all. sounds the same as my GTX570. At 95* C I am running BF4 at Ultra in 1080p around 75fps without Vsync (fraps). For 400 bucks you get a card as fast as the Titan and a free copy of BF4. I gave this 5 eggs b/c im blown away by AMDs efforts to re-enter the high end market. This is my first AMD card sense the Rage 128 Pro. I'm so happy with it that I'm going to TriFire it.
I did order a EK waterblock to keep the card at very low temps.
