Pros: The other reviews are spot on about this being one wicked fast single GPU card.
The GTX 580 readily overclocks with the reference air cooling. With an ambient temperature of 68F this one is currently running at an Engine speed of 878Mhz, Memory @ 4380 MHz QDR without any major issues. This combo in conjunction with an overclocked AMD Phenom II X6 nailed down a 28.5k & change on 3dMark Vantage [GPU was 24.1k].
Cons: If you're overclocking, which certainly most people will, I'd suggest going straight to the manual fan control instead of the default automatic mode. Under this mode the core temperature drops like a rock.
Other Thoughts: I'm currently using the Asus GTX 580 with the Asus Crosshair IV Extreme motherboard. To take advantage of the Lucid HydraLogix chipset a single GPU card is required -- fortunately the Asus GTX580 fits the bill and then some.
If you're spending this much on a GPU just don't go cheap on the power supply.
I didn't bother trying the included GTX 580 drivers & instead headed straight to nVidia for the latest build.
