1 out of 5 eggs Cant turn off hardware encryption 09/21/2016

This review is from: WD 4TB My Book Desktop External Hard Drive - USB 3.0 - WDBFJK0040HBK-NESN

Pros: Mine had a WD blue WD40EZRZ. Better price than buying just the internal drive.

Cons: You CANNOT turn off hardware encryption.

Other Thoughts: Hardware encryption is always on, whether you turn it "on" with a password or not. If the enclosure dies, you will not be able to recover your data as it will be encrypted. This is a very poor idea.

Bought one of these in a brick and mortar store. First one had bad sectors within 60 hours of use.
The replacement is randomly disconnecting. Im going to return the second one for fear of the enclosure dying.

SeaSonic S12II Series S12II 620 Bronze (SS-620GB) 620W Intel ATX 12 V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Had it over 6 months, been working as it should.
Its quiet, i5 4670k and GTX 770 at full load with no problems.

The reason for the review is that I bought my first UPS, its an APC Back-Ups NS 1080VA. It is not a pure sinewave UPS, but a simulated one.

I read that Active PFC power supplies are hit and miss on whether they will work with stepped sinewave UPS battery backups.
Just confirming that my Seasonic S12II 620w does in fact work perfectly with my APC Back-Ups NS 1080VA.
Three power outages already and the UPS has clicked over with no power loss.

Cons: None, you get whats advertised.

ASRock Z87 PRO3 LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Cheap, full of features, UEFI Bios

Cons: It is very flimsy, and my board had a moderate warp coming right out of the box.
My GTX 770 was sagging very low upon first installing, first mobo I had to actually brace a large video card in.

Other Thoughts: It works exactly how it should, its Z87, and its cheap, but its so flimsy I am afraid its going to fail and take out other components with it.

Im probably going to replace it with a high quality board when I can afford it.
