Best laptop I've ever purchased.
Pros: -Screen is superb with minimal bezels, it is very bright and has excellent colors, something i disliked on previous MSI models. This is the exact same frame size as my 15" laptop it is replacing but has a 17" screen, the 144hz is very smooth. -Keyboard is outstanding quality being that it is a steel series and has per key customization. -Gtx 2070 handles every game I can throw at it at maximum settings with easily 80-90+ fps. -Cooling system is the best you can get in a frame this size it has about 7 copper heat pipes inside, I was able to get 70c on GPU and 70-80c on the i7-9750 by just by undervolting -140 and lowering turbo boost frequency. I have yet to repaste and I'm sure that will help some.
Cons: -Trackpad is mediocre but who uses one in a laptop? -Cpu temps still can spike up to 90c but I notice that is a trend among 8th and 9th gen i7s in laptop systems. Just nitpicking at this point as CPU temps on a laptop that turbo boosts to well over 4ghz is to be expected to get hot, I have seen many other brands hit 100c using the same processor.
Complete Garbage
Pros: None, cannot get it to connect to the internet at all.
Cons: I went through 3-4 hours of troubleshooting to try to get this thing to work, reset it at least 6 times, changed router settings\disabled firewall, WPS, all failed. Tried changing ethernet cords to see if that was the culprit, tried it on several different Pc's with Static Ip\DHCP, NOTHING WORKS. The funny thing is the wifi through this thing will connect to my router thats 100 feet away and will allow me to change settings and everything as if the wifi is actually working, but i get no internet connection whatsoever. Profile says the link is up and working, shows signal, connected time, etc. Absolutely no internet access they may as well have sent me a paperweight because i paid $100 for something i can't even RMA anymore because its been over 30 days since i ordered it and i haven't tried it out until now.
Overall Review: 20 positive reviews all at 5 eggs yet im the only one with a defective unit? Garbage, don't waste your money.
Amazing GPU
Pros: - A powerhouse of a card, literally runs everything i am throwing at it under the sun and the frames never dip. -This reference model uses the same cooler as the Titan, metal body encased and is beautiful to look at inside or out of the case, the green lighting on the side is nice if you have a clear side panel. -Quiet, runs surprisingly cool when under load as well. -will future proof you for at least another gen or two if you aren't doing anything too insane with it.
Cons: Price point is quite high for what i normally spend, definitely worth it but will put a dent in your wallet in a budget friendly build.
Overall Review: The 980 didn't seem worth it due to being almost $200 more, i normally go with MSI or other branded GPU's but this is the definite one to buy if you plan to buy a 970 go with this reference model it is great.
Amazing Laptop, Highly Recommend
Pros: -Beautiful overall cosmetic look, the style of an ultrabook but the power of a work horse, it is encased in a metal aluminum build thats nice to touch and pleasing to the eye. -Amazing keyboard, responsive and feels nice to type on, the ability to customize the color of the lights and do it in layers is wonderful. -Specs and overall design, this thing can handle any game i throw at it and still runs smooth, boot time is unbelievable, the included msi software has a build in boot profiler and network management, great for tech savvy individuals such as myself. -Speakers are very decent more than what you would expect from a laptop this thin. -Screen is beautiful, full HD, no dead pixels and looks great.
Cons: -Fans can get slightly loud when under heavy load from gaming and the temps go up fast, definitely buy a cooler for this beast, it is to be expected of a laptop this thin though so not a huge con at all. -No optical drive, not a con really these days since everything can be downloaded but you will need an external if you choose to use disc media.
Overall Review: Purchased this laptop for $1400(discounted $400) as an "Open-Box", the laptop came packaged perfectly, the plastic still on the keyboard and top of the laptop, not a single scratch or fingerprint, it looks like someone opened the box then just sealed it without ever turning it on, a great deal for this laptop that i would have easily paid more for, the quality is amazing and it is well worth the price tag.
Best Headset on the Market
Pros: - Beautiful sound, I listen to music constantly and the 7.1 surround sounds beautiful in games or for music, the bass on this thing is very decent, sounds are very clear. - Wireless, no need to have to be tethered to the computer, i can do other things while still talking to someone via skype or listening to music, I thought this may interfere with my wifi being as I'm so close to my router but it doesn't at all. - Battery constantly getting 7+ hours out of gaming or music listening, the battery is the best I've seen on a wireless headset so far. - Comfort level of wearing is comparable to the previous high end razr headsets I've owned, I can wear this thing for hours and it feels great.
Cons: Very few to list, at this stage I'm nitpicking... - The speakers are not closed off so music and stuff coming from this is loud, other people in the room will easily be able to hear what you're listening to. And well thats about it for now....can't think of anything else.
Overall Review: Most people on here are commenting about an issue with the headset giving off a staticy or off sound when charging? I have not witnessed this so far, possibly fixed in new hardware? Make sure you get the updated drivers that was the first thing i did.
Works great, zero problems here.
Pros: No issues, had to call Comcast to setup, hasn't given me any problems. Runs faster than previous Comcast issued router.
Cons: None, setup was simple and it works as advertised.
