Pros: Tons of real estate, crisp images, decent blacks, Can't seem to find any custom settings better than the factory defaults. nice change.
Probably would have sprung for the ips for 30 bucks more but the viewing angles and blacks on this are pretty awesome. wish i could buy two or three of these bad boys.
compared to the viewsonic 24" 1080 i was using this monitor is MUCH better.
Skin tones look awesome.
Cons: I think the bad or pixelated blacks i see are from bad video encodings... i watch a lot of movies. NO HDMI kind of sucks.
Other Thoughts: If anyone has custom settings that work please post them... for amd or intel chipsets.. (please specify)READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I gave the monitor a 1 and returned it... turns out i might have a weird graphics card issue... although i tested the monitor on two different computer and neither laptop could find it, not sure what was going on.
I have since tried another DVI monitor and it worked on one of those computer but not the other.
In short, maybe i'm and idiot but don't take that 1* review to heart. Never owned a BenQ monitor so I'm not sure what they are like.
Giving it a 5 to offset my 1
Cons: Tech support WAS completely useless. Being passed around by indians... I felt like a basket of falafels. They had no idea what was going on.
When the extent of tech support is "puch the button on the side" then we have issues.
I just got 3 hours of tech support from dell on the other hand and they were incredible... coming to my house and everything!
Pros: it was a rectangle
Cons: broken out of the box. no OSD menu or input recognition. did get a splash screen which let me know that the panel worked, just not the firmware or interface. called benq tech support and they were sure that i just didn't know where the power button was. i guess i should stop using my cd drive as a cup holder to.
anyway tech support was clueless, newegg was awesome, issued an rma and free shipping label. I'm trying a different brand
