TP-LINK TL-WPA281 KIT 300Mbps Wireless N Powerline Adapter Starter Kit, 2.4GHz N300 Adapter + 200Mbps Adapter, IEEEE 802.11b/g/n
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: Completely Useless. Technician told me that if I have a wireless signal in this room why buy this. Also told me that if I have a high power appliance like a fridge the powerline signal will be weak and may not work.

Cons: Worse than useless. 2 computers in same 8x8 room. One connects wirelessly to original FIOS router at 18+ up and 17+ down. Other computer seems to have a week signal as it sometimes seems to loose connectivity (was not doing that when original router was closer). After I added TP Link, computer which got 18/18 now gets 5 down and 3 up. Other computer seems to be connected but did not do a speed test. Oh, one more thing, connecting a computer directly to the wireless tp link (i.e. hardwired) made no difference. The non-wireless speed is the same 5 down/3 up.

Other Thoughts: will try a standard wireless range extender, this doesnt work. Tech support is also hard to understand.

Rosewill RNX-N600UBE Wireless N600 Dual Band USB 2.0 Adapter
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: Fired up immediately, windows 7 home recognized it, no drivers to download, my speed on went from 3/3 Mbps to 26/16Mbps. So you want to know what I had before - a trenda wireless n card so it should have been better. This adapter plugged into the same usb slot in the same computer.

Cons: non

Other Thoughts: usb cable is adequate length but could have been a foot longer

Rosewill RX35-AT-SU BLK Aluminum 3.5
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Excellent robust solid cover. Great job by Rosewill - see other thoughts to see how much they have improved. This is a new design and far different from the old one.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought an enclosure from Rosewill about a year or more ago. Complete junk, the cable attached to the enclosure was flimsy, broke upon opening (this makes the cover loose but the unit will still operate). Complained to them and they shipped another one (told me they were aware of issues and it was being redesigned). The new one broke too even though I was very gentle. About the only thing good was the customer service. Refused to buy anything from them ever again but gave in recently (see Pros).
