Pros: The RAV Power is a really nice device for travel or home server. It is high quality and high speed transfer rates. It is made of strong plastic and all ports on it are strong. The RAV Power also has a 3000 mAh battery to charge your devices. It can charge an iPhone around 2.3 times.
Cons: The RAV Power File Hub application is not too user friendly because sometimes it does not recognize the FileHub. But other than that it is great.
Other Thoughts: After receiving the RAV Power FileHub Wireless SC Card reader with 3000mAh Battery I was skeptical on how fast the product would be for transferring data at what speeds, but after plugging in a SD Card I was amazed. I could switch between 16 MP photos with little to no loading time. The product also is used as a backup battery and a USB NAS/ file hub. This product is very easy to use and comes with a great manual. All you do to set up the device and get it going is download the app RAV Power File Hub, then put a SD Card into the port or a USB into the USB port and turn the device on. On your device ,such as an iPhone, you will see a wireless name such as FileHub-B10E you just connect to it and open up the RAV Power File app. You have many options such as view files, upload, settings and other things. In settings you can change the Wi-Fi name, password, and other things like what type of security on the Wi-Fi. The file hub is great for travel, while on trips you can take the SD Card from your camera and put it in this device and let everyone in your family or friends all of your pictures without having to email them to each person. Also this device is great for car trips. If you have kids in the back of your car you can put movies on a SD or Flash Drive and share an assortment of movies between each. The RAV Power is very useful and also has a 3000 mAh battery great for travel or putting in a car or backpack just in case your phone dies. This can charge an iPhone 5 about 2.3 times. RAV Power strives for quality and they show it, all ports do not feel wobbly or cheap, the batteries are Samsung not a knock off so they work very well and are not a fake 3000 mAh and are really great batteries. RAV Power also made this product have pretty good Wi-Fi range for me it was around 20 feet. Thank you for readingREAD FULL REVIEW
Pros: The HooToo TripMate Elite is a fast portable NAS, Router, and Bridge. When I first received the HooToo TripMate Elite I was skeptical on how a router and 6000mAh phone charger could fit into a device that fits in the palm of my hand, but after using it I was astounded. This device is portable, well built, fast, and works well. I have the Apple Airport Extreme that will output 20MBPS wireless, when I hooked up the HooToo TripMate to the modem instead of the AirPort Extreme, I was astounded at how good it preformed. The TripMate Elite is the perfect device for anyone and everyone.
Cons: The HooToo TripMate had an issue connecting as a bridge to my router, but I fixed it after changing my routers security type.
Other Thoughts: First off, this is the best deal for the money 60$ for a 6000mAh battery pack, wireless router, and a bridge. This device is great for people who love to travel or need the versatility of a router when at a hotel or a battery pack in the car. You can turn this device into a NAS (Network Attached Storage) just by plugging a flash drive into the 1A usb and then turning it on. Say you are on the plane and you saved movies to this flash drive you just plug it in and people you allow to connect to the TripMate Elite will be aloud to connect and watch your movies because the TripMate creates its own Wi-Fi signal. When you travel and are at a hotel sometimes they do not provide you with a Wi-Fi signal so you must pay or use ethernet, but with devices like iPad, iPod, and other wireless devices there is no ethernet port so you are required to have wifi. You just plug the ethernet into the TripMate and in a few seconds it provides you with a wireless signal. The TripMate Elite is portable, has two ways to charge it, and very useful. I will be going on a trip this month and will update this review when I get back on how it worked. The TripMate Elite is a pretty good router, I plugged it in in place of m AirPort Extreme 200$ router, and that will give me 20MBPS speed, The TripMate was providing me with 18.7MBPS through a device less than 1/5th the size. The HooToo Tripmate Elite is also useful for places that have Wi-Fi but may not be secure. If you head into a Starbucks or other store of such you will be provided with free, unsafe wifi, but with the HooToo TripMate Elite you will be able to bridge that connection to have your own free bridged Wi-Fi that is secure. The TripMate comes with a travel case and a flat micro USB cable to charge it, or plug it directly into the wall with it's pop out prongs to charge. (Note that the pop out prongs will charge the device a lot faster) HooToo has created an amazing product that every traveler or everyday coffee shop/library visitor should have in their bag. Even though the product is glossy the carrying case will keep it fingerprint free if you leave it in there. The HooToo TripMate is the perfect companion for anyone and everyone.
