TOSHIBA PH3300U-1I72 3TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Fast, and quiet. I have this running in an open SATA dock copying files no less than 2 feet away from my dome. It's quieter than the Seagate the WD that have graced the same spot. So far no complaints.

I'm seeing 130m/b file transfers from over the external SATA, so I can't complain.

Cons: For just a little bit more 4tb.

Seagate Desktop HDD.15 ST4000DM000 4TB 5900 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: It was the first 4TB drive I have purchased. Nice to have so much room.

Cons: It died less than a year into it. It was on, then off, then on and then off. And now it remains off. I hope Seagate respects their warrant as this was quite a bummer and I am almost sure I have lost all of my data...

Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2CCA 2.5
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Fast and silent (of Course it's SSD.) I was very impressed with the speed at which Photoshop opened. It was plug an play at the beginning.

Cons: Died and took my data with it. The partition just disappeared but the drive was still recognizable. This was installed as the OS drive on a computer that was used probably 30 times total.

Other Thoughts: I really liked my drive until a couple days ago it just stopped functioning and windows wouldn't boot but found no issues. Complete data loss. Remind yourself to do backups because there is no saving a dead SSD.
