Excellent case

Rosewill - THOR V2-W Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case White Edition, Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans
Rosewill - THOR V2-W Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case White Edition, Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: Nice large case with loads of room. My old CoolerMaster case was a 1/4" too short for my recently bought and huge Gigabyte GTX 760 Windforce card, so I purchased this case. Now it fits easily with 2 inches to spare! Nice sturdy steel case, not flimsy at all. No sharp corners to cut yourself on while building it. The snap-in hard-drive plates are nice. Rubber mounted for 3.5" drives is great. The plates have pre-drilled holes for my 2.5" SSD drives as well. The fans are big and fairly quiet but roar loudly when cranked up to full blast with the fan control knobs. The top panel with USB2 & 3 etc is a nice feature and easy to reach whether your case is on the floor on your desk. Plenty of holes for cable routing make for a nice clean build. Messy in the back of course but out of sight when you put the right side cover on. All in all I'm very pleased with this case and highly recommend it to anybody who wants a case that can fit large video cards. Even triple SLI is no problem in this unit.

Cons: One of the (many) wires from the fan speed control knobs was bared for an inch when I opened the case. Bummer. Luckily it was a ground wire. Not worth sending it back for another case as I can easily repair it myself. I'm not using it anyway so it doesn't matter.

Overall Review: Some people say this case is huge and heavy, but I don't really think so. I've had full tower cases since 1993 and this one isn't quite as tall as cases from those days and about the same weight, but it's better built, looks much nicer and has massive fans, as well as a bottom mount PSU with a removable filter even, so it's a win for me. Plus it's not all black like most cases have been since the late 90's.

Excellent silent card

SAPPHIRE Ultimate Radeon HD 6670 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card (100326UL)

Pros: Looks really cool and runs silent with no fan! Doesn't need an extra power connector. Runs my 28" LCD at 1920 x 1200 no problem. Barely gets warm to the touch in my open case.

Cons: None I can see so far.

Overall Review: Simple to install and set up. I removed my old GT7800 and had this up and running in a few minutes. Somebody said that this card runs extremely hot and is too hot to touch. Seems odd as I've been running it for several hours now and the top fins and pipes are barely warm in my open case.

Good Power Supply

Broadway Com Corp OKIA-BLACK-680 680W ATX 12V V2.2 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply - Retail

Pros: I bought it as the specs seemed pretty good with high amps on each of the rails. It's stable and has plenty of SATA connectors, and was a great price.

Cons: None really. The wires could have been sleeved to make em look nice, but I didn't expect that for the price. I didn't really like all the Molex connectors on 1 line but I don't use any so it didn't matter anyway. PSU is advertised as a 680 watt unit but is 658 watts according to the sticker on it. The amperages are as advertised though.

Overall Review: I wanted a good power supply with high amps on each rail and this one has that. I would have like more amps on the 12v rails, but 25a will do. Installation was easy and the connectors all fit well and the wires are long enough to reach everything. Even the ATX 12v power cord was plenty long enough and seemed the usual length found in any PSU. I've read some reviews that say this is a trashy PSU, but I don't see why. I have no problem with it as it works well and it didn't cost lotsa $$$. Other reviewers had DOA PSU's I see, but mine powered right up and works great. I got a fanless video card (Radeon HD 6670) at the same time as this PSU, so the big fan in this PSU is the noisiest thing in my system now, but it's still fairly quiet. I might try Mooses 'more lubricant' trick on it later to see if it gets quieter.
