WD Purple 2TB Surveillance Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM Class SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD20PURX
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Size, reliability, and work just fine in a PC.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I use all available sizes of WD Purple surveillance hard drives for internal PC storage drives and have never had a problem with any of them.. Seagates on the other hand are 50/50 for me so I'm sticking with what works.

WD Purple 6TB Surveillance Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM Class SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD60PURX
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Storage Size! Largest internal storage hard drive available currently. Lots of space for backing up large files!

Cons: High Price but still cheaper than other sellers. Only 5.5TB of usable space after initializing and formatting

Other Thoughts: I bought this for backing up large files to my home entertainment computer. Yes it's designed for surveillance systems but it works just fine in a desktop computer environment. Already bought 2 4TB WD purples prior to buying this 6TB for my desktop PCs.

WD Purple 6TB Surveillance Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM Class SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD60PURX

  • neweggOwned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: 6 Terabytes! Lots of storage space! Works just fine in a desktop computer

Cons: Price of $265 but still cheaper than other sellers

Other Thoughts: This is the largest internal hard drive available currently. I bought this specifically for backing up my Blu-Ray collection and we all know ripped Blu-Rays are huge files! Yes it says it's made specifically for surveillance systems but I've bought 2 4TB purple Western Digital hard drives before buying this one and they work just fine in a desktop computer environment.
