ORICO Ultra Slim 2.5-Inch SATA to USB 3.0 External Aluminum Screwless Hard Drive Enclosure with Sleeve
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Very well built, fast read/write speed. I have read several complaints about installing the drive being difficult. I found installation to be a breeze! A WD 9.5mm drive slides in nicely. If it does not go into the connector easily, you need to tilt the enclosure to line up the connections. Same for connecting the USB cable, if it doesn't go easily, look closely and line it up better. The slide lock for the "door" HAS to be pushed in to lock and unlock, and when done right it works easily too.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It does require a little mechanical skill to easily install a drive, but less skill and work than operating a screwdriver on other enclosures. Swapping drives is also easy and quick!

1 out of 5 eggs SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW 02/15/2014

This review is from: Toshiba TransMemory 16GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model PFU016U-1BCK

Pros: Cheap on sale

Cons: 30% slower than a 5 year old USB 2.0 OCZ 16 gb in the same USB 3.0 port reading and writing the same file set. DO NOT BOTHER EVEN LOOKING AT THIS DOG!

Orico 6619US3-BK 5Gbps Super Speed USB3.0 to 2.5
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: Looks nice ... but that's ALL!

Cons: Works on USB 2.0. Device not recognized on USB 3.0 by Windows 8. Worthless technical support, that is, IF you can understand them! I'm trying to RMA this dock, but the staff is overwhelmed, probably by complaints about this Chinese JUNK!
