This review is from: Cooler Master NotePal U2 - Laptop Cooling Pad with Dual 80 mm Configurable Fans
Pros: - The aluminum pad is light
- The concept is great
Cons: - Fans are very low quality
- Patience is a virtue
Other Thoughts: I wish that I'd been more patient before my initial review. I still like the aluminum pad's lightness, but now that the initial purchase buzz has worn off I see quite a few flaws in its construction quality. More importantly, one of the two fans is already failing after less than 100 hours of use (I've only used the fans a handful of overnights while re-encoding video). I figure that my original five-star review and this one-star review average out reasonably well, although I'd round down to two-and-a-half stars given everything.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: - Great (Sale) Price
- Plug-and-play functionality with Lenovo ThinkPad T430
- Screws included
Cons: - Specs lacking compared to more expensive brands
- 240GB instead of 256GB
Other Thoughts: I bought a Crucial M4 128GB mSATA SSD when I purchased my first ThinkPad T430 and have been very happy with it, so when I got a new T430 I bought this drive because I knew that it would be compatible (and it was on sale for $139.95). I was hoping to find a Samsung SSD mSATA because, from my research, they seemed better in most regards except price, but I was not only unable to confirm compatibility with my Lenovo but I also couldn't find any for sale, let alone on sale. I'm a bit annoyed that its capacity is 240GB as opposed to 256GB, but it works well and I really doubt if I'd be able to notice any performance difference between it and a Samsung.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ADATA S102 Pro Advanced 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model AS102P-64G-RGY
Pros: - Aluminum body with non-slippery finish
- Cap instead of slider
- Great (Sale) Price
Cons: - Cap seems a bit insecure
- Leash hole too small for keyring
Other Thoughts: This drive has a very nice aluminum body with a non-slippery finish. It feels solidly constructed. Read and write speeds are very good relative to my older 2.0 flash drives (although I've not done any actual benchmarking). I've always preferred caps on my thumb drives, as opposed to sliding mechanisms, due to the lack of an open port (no dirt or lint can invade); however, while this cap does "click" into place on both ends, it's feels a bit loose to me, especially on the port end. This could just be my drive. Also, I'd prefer if the hole for a leash was big enough to accommodate a keyring. Recommended if on sale, depending on your usage plan.READ FULL REVIEW
