Pros: Fast, stable, and comparably affordable. You get the best of all worlds with this kit.
Cons: DDR4 in general is quite expensive. Regardless, it's well worth the money as an initial investment if you are moving to a newer platform that leverage it.
Other Thoughts: Usually I'm a Corsair customer. Nothing against them really, but their kits were just a bit more expensive and I had always heard good things with regard to G.Skill so I figured I'd give them a try this time around. I'm glad I did.
The kit itself is a handsome, sporting black heat spreaders that don't tower above everything else in your case. The PCB seems to be fairly solid as does the construction of the units. Altogether, they look and feel very nice.
G.Skill's forums are responsive and filled with knowledgeable users as well as experienced technicians. If you need any guidance, you are sure to find it.
This review is from: ASUS X99-DELUXE LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: This is a feature packed board, sporting the most recent technologies available to the PC enthusiast. The topology of the board is also well designed.
But don't get your hopes too high.
Cons: Dead on arrival. Like many others, this board did not work when I finally got it. I have called newegg in hopes for an RMA but now need to wait for a call back from one of their technicians. This is a huge disappointment. The last 3 systems I have built had no hitches at all spare bios updates.
I expected better than this. Especially coming from a company as touted as Asus not to mention the hefty coin I dropped for this motherboard. The largest disappointment I've had in purchasing computer components in years.
Other Thoughts: Do not buy this motherboard.
It is overpriced, is frequently broken upon arrival, and overall a huge disappointment to any PC enthusiast looking forward to the x99 platform. If you are looking to game on x99, there are boards half the cost and with better failure rates than this cashmere computing piece of junk and will ultimately meet your needs.
Pros: • Rock solid stability
• Attractive Price
• Stays cool with/without great air flow
Other Thoughts: Received this kit as a gift while building my current machine about 2 years ago. While running an i7 930 at 3.6Ghz and the memory at its max settings ( timings: 9, 9, 9, 24 speed: 1333Mhz) this memory provides stability that is rock solid. No bsod. No hitches or glitches along the way. I highly recommend this kit.READ FULL REVIEW
