Pros: It is an inexpensive, and basically decent piece of hardware. Runs Windows 7 just fine, and it makes a great media center machine.

Cons: Using the included power adapter can fry devices you hook this computer up to!

Other Thoughts: I was using the computer as a Media Center. Hooked via HDMI to my Onkyo receiver I noticed an intermittent LOUD 60 cycle hum through the speakers while using it. Being that it was all HDMI digital connections, there should have been no way for hum to get in the audio. I took some measurements and was floored! I compared voltages between the power brick included with this computer, and some laptops I had laying around. I was looking for AC isolation problems, and I found them! All the other power bricks I have, "float" their DC power out connectors between the hot and neutral of the AC input. If you measure from either the hot or neutral of the AC outlet to the tips of the DC out connector, you get about half the line voltage. I measured 40-60 volts potential between the outlet and the DC connector. There is sufficient resistance to eliminate the potential for shock, but there is a voltage potential. When I measured the brick that came with the computer, I saw something very different. Both sides of the tip are tied to the AC neutral. Measuring from neutral to the tip gave zero volts. However measuring from the AC hot to the tip gave 120 volts! This is not a problem for the computer itself, because the voltage potential between the contacts at the DC tip is the proper 19 volts DC. However, when you hook this up to a device using a different grounding method, like "floating" between the AC line inputs, you can have quite a voltage develop between the two different device grounds which will be carried down your HDMI cable. I'll say again there is a good bit of isolation between the computer ground and the wall outlet. Also there is some isolation between the ground and the AC line in the peripheral device you hook up (Monitor, big screen, stereo, whatever) But since the isolation methods are different, there is a voltage potential between grounds. I observed this potential as a ground loop hum, and also as a visible (but small) spark that appeared when I hooked it up to the stereo, or the TV. Unfortunately the last effect I observed was damage to the HDMI input on my television. It burned out one of my televisions inputs. Needless to say, I am NOT happy. I believe if you use a different power brick (which uses the floating setup like most other components do today) you will have no problem. The power adapter from a Gateway NV53 laptop works nicely, it has the right voltage, and the same tip that the computer uses (Liteon part number pa-1650-22). If you are experiencing any audio hum when hooked to your other devices STOP USING IT IMMEDIATELY!! Don't let it burn up your equipment like it did mine! Hopefully this saves someone some real grief.
