Inexpensive, fast storage solution

Eluktronics Eluktro Pro-X G2 500GB PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe 1.3 Internal M.2 2280 3D NAND Solid State Drive (SSD) - TRO-500GB-PRO-X
Eluktronics Eluktro Pro-X G2 500GB PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe 1.3 Internal M.2 2280 3D NAND Solid State Drive (SSD) - TRO-500GB-PRO-X

Pros: - Very inexpensive compared to other M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 SSDs that I researched - MUCH faster than even SATA III 6.0Gb/s SSDs - Very easy to install the hardware on the motherboard and Windows 10 Home 64-bit installation worked perfectly

Cons: - Not quite as fast as some other M.2 SSDs

Overall Review: The fact that there weren't many reviews and I hadn't heard of the brand made me leary, but after a month of use it's worked great. Boot up time on a system with ASRock B250M Pro4 motherboard, Pentium G4560 @3.5GHz and 16GB 2133MHz RAM running Windows 10 is around 2 seconds (my computer sits in POST longer than it takes to boot Windows!). Only time will tell if this SSD has decent longevity, but so far I've been very pleased.

Space for larger plugs and power adapters

APC 8-Outlet Surge Protector, SurgeArrest Home / Office - Black (PH8)
APC 8-Outlet Surge Protector, SurgeArrest Home / Office - Black (PH8)

Pros: The arrangement of the outlets on this power strip is ideal to handle several larger plug-in power adapters without blocking other outlets. The orientation of the smaller power outlets also allows for power adapters that are wide but not tall. Between the orientation of the outlets, the flat plug to use less room where this may be plugged in behind furniture, not to mention the surge rating, I found this surge protector/power strip to be ideal for use in my home office.

Cons: No cons that I've found so far, though some things to consider--first, since the plug is flat it will help behind furniture, but I have had issues with similar style flat plugs when there isn't much room to the sides of a wall outlet. Also, just from an aesthetic viewpoint, the back side of it is light gray, so if you're trying to match to black or dark furniture so that it won't be obvious that may be something to note--I have black office furniture so the light gray back is visible, but not an overly obvious way.

Overall Review: I had previously ordered two similar surge protectors from another online retailer, but the order shipment date kept being pushed back week after week, so I finally had to cancel it. I should have ordered from Newegg in the first place--my mistake. I ordered two of these from Newegg, they were shipped quickly, the price was good, the power cable is plenty long, and they work perfectly in an area where I have multiple plug-in power adapters that need extra space.

Reliable and Inexpensive

NETIS WF2190 AC1200 Wireless High Gain USB 3.0 Adapter with Dual 5 dBi Antenna & USB Cradle Extension Compatible with Windows MAC Linux OS
NETIS WF2190 AC1200 Wireless High Gain USB 3.0 Adapter with Dual 5 dBi Antenna & USB Cradle Extension Compatible with Windows MAC Linux OS

Pros: Reliable, speed has been very good (granted I live in a 900 sq ft apartment, but at 50-60 ft across two rooms from my router it has been reliable and had very good reception).

Cons: None that I have noticed.

Overall Review: I purchased this same Netis WF2190 WiFi adapter for my computer a year ago and have been very impressed with it--so much so that I bought a second one (that this review is for) for my daughter's computer. I'm not a gamer, but I keep a terminal logged in 24-7 to a Linux box in the house, with the terminal program set use a ping every 60 seconds to ensure connection and have had no issues with the connection dropping. My daughter plays a few online games and hasn't had any issues with her games lagging or losing connection while she's online. I've been very impressed and would certainly recommend this WiFi adapter.

Perfect for a home computer

APC BE550G Back-UPS 550 VA 8-outlet Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) (Replaced by BE600M1)
APC BE550G Back-UPS 550 VA 8-outlet Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) (Replaced by BE600M1)

Pros: For the price, it's perfect for a small home computer set up. Works with Windows power options, even without installing the extra APC software.

Cons: None--it hasn't had a problem and has kept my HP Slimline and 2 HP 21in monitors going through several power outages over the past year.

Overall Review: As with all UPS decisions, make sure it meets the power demands of your computer, monitor and any other equipment you have connected. For a small home computer and LCD or LED monitor, this will probably be adequate.

Cheap, simple, and works well

EDIMAX EW-7811UTC AC600 Dual-band USB 2.0 Wireless Mini Adapter, ideally for upgrading Laptop, desktop, Macbook or Ultrabook with 433/150Mbps data rates
EDIMAX EW-7811UTC AC600 Dual-band USB 2.0 Wireless Mini Adapter, ideally for upgrading Laptop, desktop, Macbook or Ultrabook with 433/150Mbps data rates

Pros: It has worked VERY well on a 9 year old Sony laptop running Windows 10 32-bit. Set up was easy, and I haven't had issues with losing connection, heat, latency or poor signal strength in my apartment. Occasional video streaming, online games, and web browsing haven't had any problems so far.

Cons: Not the fastest 802.11ac network adapter, but for anyone wanting an upgrade for an older laptop (as was my situation) that drawback won't be an issue. For an older laptop that's about as much as you'll get for throughput anyway...for a newer laptop with USB3.0/3.1 (and especially if you need the extra speed) you may want to invest in something with better throughput. I haven't had any issues with it otherwise.

Overall Review: I haven't had to really push this device for range...my apartment is only 900 sq ft so if you have a larger home, or if you're going to be using it in an office environment you may have a different experience. Also, I've only used it for viewing video or doing big transfers on a few occasions, though it didn't have any problems then...other than that most of my use has been web browsing, transferring scanned documents, and letting my daughter play educational games online. That being said, I've been VERY happy with the performance of this network adapter. The built-in 802.11n adapter in my laptop apparently has hardware problems and was causing random crashes, but this adapter gave my old computer new life and I haven't had any problems with it so far.

TP-LINK TL-WR740N_RE Wireless Router 802.11b/g/n up to 150Mbps 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Port x4
TP-LINK TL-WR740N_RE Wireless Router 802.11b/g/n up to 150Mbps 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Port x4

Pros: I bought this because of the WDS feature and have not been disappointed. The WDS works great, the router itself has been highly reliable, even though it's refurbished. I have yet to use it as a standard access point, but haven't had any problems with having a wired connection to a PC, and wireless to a laptop, Internet enabled DVD player, and two smart phones with a bridge to an AT&T Uverse wireless router, which is at the other end of the house. Despite the Uverse router being so far away with several walls between them, I've had very decent throughput (good enough for HD video playback).

Cons: The only con isn't really the fault of this router, it's more to do with Uverse. When there's several competing Wifi signals around on the same channel the Uverse router is on, the Uverse router will change channels automatically which this router doesn't pick up on. To get it to reconnect using WDS, I have to disable WDS, reboot the router, then rescan for the Uverse router I'm bridging to. It would be nice if this router would pick up the channel change automatically, though. Some people may consider that a deal breaker, but I would consider this norhing more than a minor inconvenience. Beyond that, no complaints.

Overall Review: If you use this router for bridging to another wireless router using the WDS feature, make sure to set this router's IP and disable it's DHCP before enabling WDS. I made the mistake of not doing that (I know, stupid me) and had to do a hard reset back to factory defaults. Beyond that, it's been 2 months and I've been pretty happy with it.

Easy, Quick Purchase

I had no problems ordering or having my purchase delivered quickly. I didn't notice any difference from purchases from NewEgg itself--I would definitely purchase from Rugged Books again.
