Corsair Carbide Series 300R Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

2 out of 5 eggs Could have been a contender... 08/17/2012

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Roomy, good wire management including HHD positioning for power and SATA connections which feed from back side to have those wires utilize wire management. Nice cutout for CPU fan installation once MB is installed. Fantastic fan options. Quick install clips for CD/DVD drives work great. HHD carriers are a bit flimsy but work fine.

Cons: For the price, like others have stated very thin material. If you over-tighten fans even a little you will distort the case material! Manual is more of a cut sheet rather than a real manual as it says nothing about its internal connectors to the MB or step-by-step guide to install components.
Found that top mounted CD/DVD drive hits the fan if installed in top, had to push up fan (and thereby the top of the case) to get the drive to move back and click in place... fan actually sets on top of drive! With so much room, why make it that do close? USB 3.0 front panel wires are very stiff and don't like to stay seated on MB due to the tension created by the stiff wires.

Other Thoughts: Misplaced my manual so went to Corsair website and there is no place to download documents (hmmm... are we in the 90's?). Sent a nasty-gram to support and they emailed me a pdf after three days. I expect more from a company that I have respected for their Power Supplies. Overall, the case is overpriced for the material content and attention to design/build quality. Antec for me is best, but for cheaper cases I will get the Xclio before another Corsair!

5 out of 5 eggs Great Performer 08/09/2010

This review is from: AZiO BTD-V201 USB 2.0 Micro Bluetooth Adapter

Pros: Got this for my son who wants to connect his cell phone to the computer. Bingo, worked right out of the blister package! He could move his pictures and ringtones easily.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Good value.

Rosewill RX81U-ES-25A 2.5

5 out of 5 eggs Another Hit 08/09/2010

This review is from: Rosewill RX81U-ES-25A 2.5" SATA to USB 2.0 External Enclosure

Pros: Great product even for the low price. It has performed perfectly under Windows Vista and XP machines. Good looking case with pouch, quick and easy assembly and disassembly. Simple hookup without the need for a power cord. Would buy again in a heartbeat. Some may think that the double USB plugs is a negative, but that is what saves you from having a power adapter that would be heavier than the entire drive assembled! Besides, if you can't spare two USB ports, your computer is just too old anyway!

Cons: Be sure to open it over a table or desk when a hard drive is in it as you can easily drop the IC tray with the drive right out of it when you take the top plate off!

Other Thoughts: Rosewill is changing my attitude. Thought of them as a cheap parts maker, which they are is some respects, but so far I have had very good performance and value from the enclosures that I have from them.
