Works exactly as it should

TP-Link AC1750 Smart WiFi Router (Archer A7) -Dual Band Gigabit Wireless Internet Router for Home, Works with Alexa, VPN Server, Parental Control, QoS
TP-Link AC1750 Smart WiFi Router (Archer A7) -Dual Band Gigabit Wireless Internet Router for Home, Works with Alexa, VPN Server, Parental Control, QoS

Pros: 2.4 band > 400, perfect for 400 mbps Internet

Cons: 5ghz range - not the routers fault, just the techs

Overall Review: I have a 2 story, 3000 sq ft. Our Wi-Fi use spans mostly one side of the house. I can get 2.4 coverage on my iPhone while I’m mowing our front lawn - the router is in my office at the front of the house - and part of the back. We have big backyard so that’s to be expected. For our home setup, this device covers us. If you have a sprawling ranch-style, home, I would guess you’d need a mesh for one end.

Fix it yourself!

Cyborg CCB437080002/04/1 Black USB Wired Laser 6400 dpi R.A.T. 7 Gaming Mouse

Pros: It is the best and most comfortable mouse I've ever owned. I don't use the profiles excessively anymore, but programmability is easy w/ the included software.

Cons: None, with thorough cleanings :)

Overall Review: Keep having issues w/ the mouse 'freezing'. It would stop tracking and I had to pick it up and slam it down. I read on the forums about how you have to have a white mouse pad, or just use plain paper, etc.. I finally found on MadCatz support forums where they recommend a cleaning of the laser lens w/ alcohol and a q-tip. I did that and the head of the q-tip was black (my mouse pad is white and still white, not dingy). Worked again for 6-8 months, then stopped tracking. Cleaned again, works flawlessly again.

Get a third party fan-controll program

PNY GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) 1280MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card RVCGGTX470XXB
PNY GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) 1280MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card RVCGGTX470XXB

Pros: Speedy and relatively cheap (especially a refurbished model). Beats most newer, similarly priced card's benchmarks.

Cons: Hot. Auto fan will not keep this thing under 100 C at full load, or even 90 C when playing a demanding game.

Overall Review: Okay, I bought a second one for SLI. Awesome benchmarks. UH 2.5 doubled, AvP doubled, just amazing. My heat problem doubled as well. I use a software program (free) from another manufacturer to control the fan speeds. The result sounds like a turbine engine, but I can't afford liquid cooling right now. Still, I take noise over BSOD anyday!

Rated the best for a reason

PLEXTOR Black 12X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 5X DVD-RAM 8X BD-ROM 4MB Cache SATA Blu-ray Disc Burner PX-B940SA-11
PLEXTOR Black 12X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 5X DVD-RAM 8X BD-ROM 4MB Cache SATA Blu-ray Disc Burner PX-B940SA-11

Pros: Fast and dependable. I don't always believe the magazines, but in this case they were right on. There is a reason why this drive receives the accolades it garners. Plextor has been making drives for a short time in comparison to big names but they are doing it right in my opinion.

Cons: None yet, but I will be sure to update if there are any

Overall Review: I have rarely bought a product in the past that performs to tester's specifications. Obviously those of us at home don't always have ideal situations, hardware, etc., to emulate the experts. This drive actually has performed as fast or faster than reported by the testers-11 minutes (+/- a few seconds) to burn 25 GB of data on a BD-R 25GB. I'm using mid-level quality media, not the most expensive or highest rated. Even the top rated DVD burners take nearly 6 minutes with high speed media. Granted I haven't tried multiple brands of media or formats, but so far I am really impressed.

Control the fan, beat the heat

PNY XLR8 GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) 1280MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card VCGGTX470XPB
PNY XLR8 GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) 1280MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card VCGGTX470XPB

Pros: Fast. Far less bugs with NVIDIA and latest games (trust me I had a 4870 prior to this). I have a single monitor and can max out just about everything...

Cons: ...that being said, when I got the card I immediately downloaded a fan controlling program (free-third party) that allowed me to adjust the settings according to temp. This thing will run HOT at stock fan speeds. Mine idles @ 35 C with fan @ 50% and will run close to 60 C @ 80%. It does get a tad loud at that speed, but none of these cards from any manufacturer stay cool with stock fan at high impact. If you want to OC a now gen video card, get some high end cooling or prepare for disappointment.

Overall Review: Make sure your case can fit the card and that you have a well ventilated case. Preferably one with a side fan blowing on the card, like my HAF 932.
