Most Favorable Review

An excellent value.

HP Laptop ProBook AMD Athlon II P340 2GB Memory 320GB HDD ATI Radeon HD 4250 15.6" Windows 7 Professional 32-bit 4525s (XT950UT#ABA)
HP Laptop ProBook AMD Athlon II P340 2GB Memory 320GB HDD ATI Radeon HD 4250 15.6" Windows 7 Professional 32-bit 4525s (XT950UT#ABA)

Pros: +Great design, The way the laptop is assembled just makes sense, has all the features you'd expect. +The anodized aluminum paneling on the monitor and matching colored plastic accents look great, much more interesting to look at then just another black or silver plastic case. +No bottom mounted air intakes. This means you can actually put it on any surface, hard or soft, and as long as the left side vent is unobstructed it won't be risking overheating. You can even use it on your lap! amazeing! + Amazing integrated graphics. Sure it's not as fast as a laptop with a dedicated chip, but the Radeon 4250 can still run a number of games at usable frame-rates. +Built in Bluetooth. +Lightscribe.

Cons: - The multitouch trackpad. It's quite sensitive and tricky to get used to but usable. - Processor is not very fast. For the price though it's what you'd expect, and it's still quite capable. - 2GB ram is not enough, and it's one stick at that lowering performance even more. Fortunately that's up gradable easily to 4 or 8 GB - Only 32 bit Windows 7 pro installed. Makes sense due to the the initial ram configuration, but in the long run is horrible since it only would allow about 3GB of ram use. Fortunately it can be upgraded to 64 bit at no cost. -Bloatware, but all Notebooks come with that, it isn't too bad, and with a little work can be completely removed by obtaining the restore disks. -

Overall Review: While performance is decent out of the box, you're better off if you plan to also do the following two things if you buy this laptop: Buy at least 4GB (or even better 8GB) of PC3 8500 memory along with this laptop and do an upgrade. Be warned though: since this unit has a solid bottom, The upgrade process requires Removing the keyboard. it's not that hard though, just requires removing a few screws and sliding panels off. There are online videos showing how, they don't have to be model specific, all similar ProBooks come apart the same way. Obtain the Windows 7 Pro 64bit recovery disks which, as others have also mentioned, can easily be obtained from HP Business support. They Should be able to be obtained at no cost. Added bonus is that they're clean installs that don't include any bloatware, and the drivers disk has option to just install the minimal drivers needed. Do that and you'll have a excellent NoteBook which you obtained for a stellar price.

SABRENT AD-RTHD DVI Male to HDMI Female Video Rotating Adapter
SABRENT AD-RTHD DVI Male to HDMI Female Video Rotating Adapter

Pros: Nice swivel connector

Cons: Housing around DVI connector is kind of bulky. It's a DVI adaptor but it's of the DVI M1-DA type. This type of connector is usually only found on the DVI out on a PC so as others have stated this WILL NOT connect to the DVI input on most flat panel monitors.

Overall Review: Feel kind of cheated since the item description states: "Compatible with flat panel displays" and it turns out it isn't compatible with most. It's just on that threshold cost that isn't not worth the hassle to try and send back.. so others beware.
