Pros: It's a fine and dandy machine. No major jams or mishaps. Decent quality.
Cons: What is the deal Canon? There is no support for Windows7 64bit!! How can this be? I've owned this machine for about a year. Worked just fine with my XP setup... but I upgraded to a 64 bit system a few months ago, as has my wife.
Listen Canon... if your machine is still on the market being sold and making you money, you need to support all the major operating systems. It's not like Windows7 64 Bit is some obscure operating system. It's got a fair market share and will only increase.
Other Thoughts: I do love Canon products... but this lack of support has left a sour taste in my mouth.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I have two of these set up in crossfire and 3 screen eyefinity. The performance has been great. Even with one card it's a smooth operator. Dirt2.. HL.. Fallout3.. Bioshock... all very fun in eyefinity. Some require minor tweaks to get working right.
Cons: drivers, crossfire, eyefinity, and these darn displayport shenanigans really add up to a pretty high maintenance setup. I have 3 monitors, one had to be equipped with an active ($100) displayport adapter to work. It cuts out at higher resolutions... and if my monitor isn't on when I power up the PC, the card BSOD's my rig on boot. That's mildly annoying.
Other Thoughts: One review on the first page is way off. He claims you'll have 6 screen eyefinity with two cards. (and 9 screen eyefinity with 3) WRONG. Eyefinity must all be off the same 1 card. They can be crossfired... but not eyefinity. It's misinformation like this that prompted me to buy a second card, only to have it go mostly to waste.
Sure, you can get the 6+ screens to work in windows, but they won't be enabled in eyefinity. Useless for gaming.
Those crazy eyefinity rigs showing 6 screens... those are using single cards with 6 displayports. You can find them sold here at the egg.
Pros: I must rather sheepishly admit that my previous review was faulty. The drive does play all my discs perfectly now that I have stopped using my outdated video card. I knew it was an old card, but I had forgotten exactly how outdated it was. I switched over to my onboard graphics and it's smooth as silk now.
Cons: Support still iffy?
Other Thoughts: The rest of my specs far exceeded the minimums required... but that still didn't make up for my lacking video card.READ FULL REVIEW
