This review is from: BYTECC AP-DPDVI-005 DisplayPort to DVI Cable Adapter 0.5ft (6") w/IC
Pros: It does exactly what it is supposed to do. This adapter is for those who want to use display port on their PC/laptop to connect to DVI port of the monitor (not vice-versa). It is not a powered adapter and it doesn't claim to be. It works perfectly fine for my one monitor setup. The display port end fits very well in my laptop's display port. It is relatively new, so I don't know how long it will last, but I don't see any reason not to last long.
Cons: The DVI side of this adapter feels little cheap. But it reduces the weight too.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Fanless design
relatively easy installtion
delivers 1080P video. Excellent picture quality.
HDMI audio quality is good. (This card has an audio driver of itself)
I don't use this card for playing games, but for movies and internet videos it is perfect. Overall video quality is very good. I have been using the HDMI port for the video and audio. Overall I am very pleased with this card.
Cons: The drivers on the CD are not latest. Once you install drivers from CD, updating them with latest drivers from website is pain. The catalyst control panel kept crashing. I completely uninstalled everything and then installed just the driver from the MSI website. I am not using any other software that comes with the CD.
The heat sink is very thick (naturally). That covers the PCI-Express 1X slot near the PCI-Express 16x slot on my motherboard.
Other Thoughts: While booting my motherboard does not recognize this card and outputs on the on board video, so I do not see the BIOS messages while booting. I had to use two video cables on two inputs of the monitor while installing. But this is not the card issue. Also I use the HDMI out so I get to see the output only after the drivers are loaded. I am using it with Windows XP. Not tested on linux yet.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Beautiful crisp display with rich vivid colors. Text looks sharp. Pictures, movies look excellent even when I am using on board graphics with 15 pin D-sub (VGA). Very good value for the price you pay.
The display is anti glare, that helps a lot.
I am using it at 1920X1080 @ 60HZs
The speakers are good enough to listen news, or youtube videos and stuff like that. They are not suitable for music.
Cons: - Glossy finish attracts dust, finger prints
- NO headphone out which is why I am giving 4 eggs. When the built in speakers are so small, you need headphone out.
- No USB port
- It is slow to wake up.
Other Thoughts: An adjustable web cam and USB ports along with headphone out would be very valuable additions.READ FULL REVIEW
