Acer Desktop PC ATC-605-UR2V Intel Core i3 4160 (3.60GHz) 8GB DDR3 1TB HDD Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit

Pros: Good PC the way it ships. One egg for that.

Cons: Okay for years I have purchased a PC, cloned the OS to a SSD and formatted the drive it came with for creation of Windows Backup with System Image. Forget that on this Model, will not let clone happen unless though DOS Boot. Then if you do manage to clone it without error the PC simply will not use the TB for an image ( says not acceptable location or not big enough). I even tried making the Acer recovery DVDs and restoring to the new SSD and it still will not use that TB to image to, also dead leveled the TB and still no luck. I then tried to image to an external drive and created a start DVD with the Ace install, guess what? Says upon restoring image there are no approved drives for this unless you use the TB that came in it new. I also noticed a different background in the recovery environment when using the Acer Start Up DVD, I used a standard OEM one I made and I could restore the image. I though okay I got it but alas when it booted "No Acceptable Boot Device". This is truly ridiculous, so I called Acer and the support idiot that answered the call could only inform me that I voided the warranty by adding hardware.

Other Thoughts: I did in fact achieve what I wanted to do by doing a clean install of 7 PRO to the Kingston V300 SSD using the COA on the tower and installing all the divers from Acer's site followed by all windows updates. Then the windows Image went flawlessly to the TB, of coarse this was after wasting 5 hours of my time.

Acer Desktop PC ATC-605-UR2P Intel Core i5 4440 (3.10GHz) 4GB DDR3 1TB HDD Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Pros: Good The Way It Comes.............Sort of.

Cons: 200 WATT PSU, Seriously, are you kidding Acer. I like to clone to an SSD and use the 1TB for a storage and image drive, no way can you run an SSD, 1TB HD and the DVD. The system simply won't function. Can't even write the image file.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps it should be sold $50 cheaper to make it affordable to put in a 430 WATT PSU :)

PNY Optima 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model MD8192KD3-1333
  • Owned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Ran for 2 years, sort of.

Cons: Complete failure after 2 years, 2 of the 4 sticks are bad. This is after 2 years of having video issues, randomly, that were fixed with a reboot. As mentioned in another review windows memory test found nothing wrong and memtest86 refused to run with the Biostar TZ MB that I have since quit using. All ASUS now with G-SKILL RAM.

Other Thoughts: I think PNY should completely do away with their support department and start fresh with good employees.
