Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium 2.0 - 3 PCs / 1 Year

5 out of 5 eggs Always Loved MBAM 06/16/2014

This review is from: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium 2.0 - 3 PCs / 1 Year

Pros: 3 PC's is nice, I can do my PC and a couple family members.

Cons: Licencing is hard to figure out, for me at least. I wasn't sure if the lifetime licences applied to MBAM 2 or not. I figured not, so ended up getting this. I still am unsure. I just know that for $15, split 3 ways, I can't go wrong.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully, when this expires, it will be easy to find lifetime licences for MBAM 2. If not, I hope it's easier to discern what is covered by what type of licence. If the lifetime licences covered version 2, I would have rather purchased 3 lifetimes instead of the one, 1 year licence for 3 PCs.

ARRIS SurfBoard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem

5 out of 5 eggs Save on TWC/RR 12/17/2013

This review is from: ARRIS SurfBoard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem

Pros: Yay for not having to pay Time Warner Cable modem fee. I've had nothing but problems with the Ubee modem/router combo they put in for the DOCSIS 3 subscribers. All problems went away, swap went flawlessly and only took 15 minutes or so.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Got this as a combo deal with an Asus router, which I've loaded Tomato onto and resold for $25. Brings total cost of investment into the $60 range, lowering my ROI on modem lease fees. A little over a year and it will pay for itself.

P3 Kill A Watt Electricity Load Meter and Monitor

5 out of 5 eggs Tweet-A-Watt 12/03/2013

This review is from: P3 Kill A Watt Electricity Load Meter and Monitor

Pros: Easy to use, easily hacked to wirelessly send usage data, lots of projects with guides and pictures. Playing with this for some father and son time.

Cons: No backlight, as other have mentioned. Before I set it up for wireless I had to use a flashlight to check it. I'm not sure this is a con though, a backlight would make it more expensive, and I don't think it really needs one.

Newer model, doesn't have enough power to drive the wireless liek older ones. Took a little more work to get running on the 13V circuit instead, but I anticipated this.
