This review is from: DVD/CD Disc Repair Plus
Pros: I order anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 of
electronics/computer equipment annualy, mostly from NEWEGG. Newegg is the BEST by far at replacing defective euipment with ZERO hasstle!!
Cons: Unit was DEAD on arrival. Power supply was good but, unit scrub wheels failed to rotate at all!
My old original Model LS-100 lasted 3 years being used about 10- to 20 cycles weekly.
Other Thoughts: Awaiting arrival of replacement unit to see if I receive another dud.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Antec Skeleton Black ATX Tower Computer Case
Pros: Excellant airflow & cooling from the open case design and 250 mm ultra quiet overhead fan. I use my as my breadboard machine with an ASUS P5Q Pro MB, Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0 Ghz, 8 Gb ram runnung WinXP x64. I assembly servers for and use this to trouble shoot cards, drives, ram, Wipe-Drives, etc.
I can't imagine where Jase had noise from this unit. my Antec 650 Watt 'Blue' power supply with low speed 120 mm fan can't be heard running. I changed out the Hard drive cooler with a low speed (1000 rpm) fan since only a little air flow is needed in this design. Drives run at approx. 96-105 degrees F. I agree that case cables need another 6" to 9" in length.
Cons: Worked for about 4 months, maybe turned on and off two dozen times before "Power Button" failed. But,
I've had only about three failures from Antec out of two dozen cases and power supplies in the last four years.
Other Thoughts: I waited 6 months after this came out waiting for a sale and finally gave in and spent $149.99. Newegg needs more aggressive sales...I've purchased 28 Hitachi or Seagate 2 TByte hard drives in the last 5 months from the local Chain store at lower prices or better warrantys.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I've purchased 34 Seagate & Western Digital 1.5Tb/2.0 Tb SATA hard drives in the last 3 months for Raid 5 towers. The Seagates have had less initial failures than the WD drives. Have not been able to get any of the 6 WD Green 2.0Tb HDs to work in four different Raid-5 towers, plus they are slow at reading and writing. Much slower than other 5900 rpm drives.
Cons: This Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST31500341AS 1.5TB has only an 18 month OEM warranty from Seagate when purchased from NEWEGG. Six drives with same part number that I purchased from TD in January for $12 more have a 5 year Seagate warranty.
I learned the hard way...This is why Newegg does not post Mfg warranty for this drive. Buyer beware.
