1 out of 5 eggs HDMI port problems 07/17/2014

This review is from: Pioneer SC-1222-K 7.2-Channel Network Ready AV Receiver

Pros: Lot of features. Too bad they all don't work.

Cons: HDMI port failure. I would have discovered this problem within the one year warranty but had the receiver at a location that I was only at 2 weekends a month. Was having connection problems from the start with the TV, Netflix and Blu Ray. I'd jiggle the cables and it would come back so I assumed it was the cables. Just over the warranty period and now I get the message "No Input Selected". I figured I now needed to replace the cables but that had no effect. Then I read reviews that described port failures. On mine it's the out port. If it was one of the inputs I could work around it. Unit has less than 100 hours use. What a waste. I have a 10 year old Pioneer Plasma TV that I still think looks better than most of the new ones I see for sale now and has never given me a problem. Same with my 10 year old HDMI-less Yamaha receiver so I figured the extended warranty would just be a waste of money. Guess that doesn't apply to the junk they're selling now. Very disappointed with this high end receiver purchase.
