Pros: Have owned this monitor 4+ months now. Was very concerned about negative reviews & in particular issues with font management/rendering, so gave the monitor a few months before reviewing. In nutshell, I have no negative issues with the performance of this monitor. Fonts are clear & colors are great. Using it for creative production & publication work, so if it had rendering issues, I'd see it. Performance has been well above expectation - I ordered 2 more as a direct result. Watch for super-saver deals and/or rebates. For the money I'm not sure there's a better 28" monitor out there.
Cons: Stock stand is not the monitor's greatest asset. Specs clearly state no height adjust, tilt only, so no issues there. Stand does work as advertised, so can't take egg away for that - it is what it is & I don't see ASUS claiming it to be anything more. You can get similar monitor with better stand, but you'll pay extra for it. Put mine on articulating wall mounts & eliminated the only weak point I could find.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ZEIKOS ZE-TR201P 77" Professional Heavy Duty Photo & Video Tripod
Pros: Absolutely great product - best in price range, for sure. Hits every point exactly as advertised - very heavy duty yet lightweight, fluid head with good control in all directions, locking mount plate, and its every inch of the featured 77" tall... by far the tallest tripod I've seen, and its solid.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Had a rubber o-ring split & fall off the center pole upon removing from box. Looks like it was there as a spacer between center pole & tripod frame when the pole was in down position. Hasn't impacted performance, but no fun to have bits falling off new toys....READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Acer V223WEJbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 ACM 50000:1(1000:1)
Pros: Had two Acer V223w's, along with older Samsung SyncMaster 225bw, running in CrossFireX for the past year or so. For a budget-level product (at least in price) , the Acers held their own very well against the more expensive Samsung. Last week the Sammy finally died & NewEgg again had promotional pricing on the Acer V223w - PERFECT TIMING! Now my CrossFireX setup runs the same monitor at all three points, and the difference is immediately noticeable. The 3 Acer V223w's together really "pop", and they all look & perform with identical results. While they aren't 30" running 2560x1600 (or 3x @ 7680x1600 CrossFireX) they still look great for their size & place in the market - and obviously their place in the budget discussion. They've got my recommendation.
Cons: None - seriously, none. You get what you pay for.
Other Thoughts: NewEgg continues to ROCK! Old monitor went bad late Fri evening & ordered a new Acer V223w Sat AM. Monitor was packed & shipped first thing Mon & arrived Tues AM. E-Commerce doesn't get any better that that!
