ThinkPad Laptop Edge E531 (68855YU) Intel Core i3 2348M (2.30GHz) 2GB Memory 320GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 3000 15.6
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: win 7 pro - if you want to avoid the NIGHTMARE of win 8

Business class computer.

Separate key pad for numbers. (nice if you do a lot of number entry)

Cons: New type of power block. Have to use Lenovo power cord.

Fan sometimes comes on for no reason. Can be a little loud.

Other Thoughts: some people struggle with this mouse pad. It's easy if you read HOW to use it. two fingers is right click, you can pinch, as well as scroll. It's difficult but once you read how to use it is easy.

AOC e2752Vh Glossy Black Bezel 27

  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: BIG - I mean this thing is freeky Big. My first 27 for a monitor. Easy HDMI ports,

Cons: colors were a bit washed and too bright. but able to adjust with my controler card and adjustments on the monitor

speakers are small and not great sound - but they work and since I don't use sound all that much it is nice to get the speakers off my desk - (and less cords as sound is through the HDMI cable)

Other Thoughts: this thing goes on/off sale all the time wait until it is less than two hundred with free shipping

ASUS P8Z68-M Pro LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: ASUS rocks

Cons: does not work

Other Thoughts: Normally I am a big fan of ASUS and their MB, but this one I RMA’d. I think this MB will be fine in the future, but at present ASUS does not seem to have enough experiance in their support group. There are issues with the way this MB uses a SSD, and the intel rapid storage technology (IRST) just does not work. One of the responses from ASUS support even told not to use IRST and it is not stable.
The Virtu Lucid GPU features, flat out don’t work, however this is minor as those features are silly and actually provide very little benefit even if they would work.
My advise is to spend just a bit more and go with the Asus P8Z68-V Pro. I have two of those boards now, and tried to go a bit cheeper with this z68 but that was a mistake. The P8Z68-VPro has a much bigger following on the forums, more support in BIOS development, and ASUS tech support knows it much better. You will get much better support and help if you need it.
In the future this board may catch, but until then wait
