This review is from: Synology DS411+II High Performance NAS Server with Data Protection
Pros: Very happy works as advertised even if watching movies on an iPhone is a bit difficult. Great product and works with icloud and os 5.0 Backups.
Cons: Had to buy from someone else as newegg stopped carrying this product for a short period. Also 1st suffered a massive crash during a firmware update and toasted itself (data on drives survived) took about 2 weeks to get an advance RMA from Synology. However synology sent me a new one due to no Refurbished ones being available.
Other Thoughts: installed 4 2tb WD RE4 refurbished drives with 1 extra bought as a spare when newegg had them for around 100 Ea Very happy got a total of 5.8TB total with protection.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I did smart tests with WD DLG to include both Full drive wipe and surface test. All drives passed and worked great. couldn't be happier with the prerformance so today. Works great my Synology DS+411 II have a total of 5.4TB from the 4 of these drives running on a raid 5 system. The DS 411 II is running a Intel Atom Dual Core 1.86mhz hits over 100mb up and down on speed tests.
I did still keep one drive as a spare just so I can make sure that in case a drive dies I can swap it before a second drive crashes.
Cons: None so far eveything is working great so far for me and Mine were the refurbished drives that have now been deactivated.
Other Thoughts: If you bought a refurished drive make sure to register the drive and get the extended warranty for the hard drive will give you atleast an additional 2 years which is better then just the 90day warranty. and it only runs $25 vs the savings you get from having refurbished drive.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Whisper quiet, this is a great drive working perfectly in my Cisco Explorer 8642 Box. It was simply a drive replacement and the Cisco ox reloaded all necessary drivers and took care of the rest, The 8642 Box is limited to 1tb and below drives.
Cons: Beware of the drives that use AF this drive is the EVDS (non-AF) not one of the EURS (AF) drives. Works perfect in my boxes and as advertised. Unlike the previously stated AF drives which floundered and were incompatible with the Linux environment used by Cisco Explorer 8642.READ FULL REVIEW
