Pros: Fine while it lasts.
Cons: I used to be a big Seagate fan, used their drives both at work and at home. However, the last couple years (since Thailand flood) I just can't recommend Seagate any more. One of my drives just gave excessive SMART errors shortly after 2 years or light usage (archival storage). There is a reason why Seagate reduces their warranty to one year or 2.
Other Thoughts: I've moved on to other brand that have 3 years warranty.... Sigh...READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: EVGA 131-GT-E767-RX LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: Had this re-certified board a little over a month now. It works fine. I stressed it for 3-4 days straight using Prime95 with no problem. It does support XMP memory profiles and some overclocking but BIOS menu are very basic and unintuitive for overclocking.
I like the onboard power, reset buttons and diagnostic LEDs.
The board is a good value as it's X58 under $100. The only thing that comes in the box is the rear case IO shield. Nothing else.
Cons: BIOS menu is very basic and unintuitive. It takes a while to figure out how to tweak the memory speed etc but it can be done.
The board does go thru 2 reset loops when it sees new components (like new CPU, add memory). Not a big issue for me but got me worried at first.
I was hoping it has dual BIOS support in case something went wrong, but it doesn't.
It can support RAID but again, hard to figure out without looking into the manual.
Other Thoughts: Overall a very good value board. It has full hardware features (2 USB 3.0, 8 USB 2.0/1.1, 2 set of internal USB headers. 6 SATA2+ 2 SATA3. Triple channel memory). It does skimp on BIOS though.
Running solid for the past 5-6 weeks and so far happy with it.
This review is from: XIGMATEK Gaia SD1283 120mm Long Life Bearing CPU Cooler LGA1150 Haswell Compatible
Pros: okay cooler only. Cooler Master is better.
Cons: REBATE NOT PAID. It has been literally 5 months (20+ weeks) since I submitted the rebates. Every inquiry to Xigmatek or Newegg came back with the same answer that it will be processed soon. It has been same excuse since end of Feb. I don't recommend this brand any more. If a company promises a rebate will be paid in 12 weeks, I want my rebate in 12 weeks or less, not dragging on for 20+ weeks and _not_ paid. Busy is not an acceptable excuse.
Other Thoughts: I deal with rebates a lot with newegg and this is the first time I'm not getting a rebate paid in time, and newegg is not doing much to help. I will never buy from Xigmatek again. Sigh...READ FULL REVIEW
