Pros: USB powered
USB splitter to use on multiple devices at 1 time, I guess?
No need for an external power cord
Cons: No screw holes for mounting the HDD or SSD securely
No fan (not that it gets very hot, probably was designed for SSD)
Other Thoughts: I bought this for my old PS3 80GB HDD to use as an MP3 storage device and play in my car stereo through the USB port. had some trouble with it not playing more than 255 songs but that was a limitation of the stereo via 255 per folder, so I put 255 songs in each of the 4 folders I created. Now it plays all 800+ songs I have.
I formatted the HDD to FAT32 using a third party program as Windows wont do more than 16GB or something like that. The program I used is called "FAT32Format 1.12"
This review is from: MASSCOOL UHB-3232 Aluminum 3.5" Silver SATA I/II USB 3.0 External Enclosure
Pros: Compatible with 3.5" and 2.5" drives, Plug-n-Play, possibly enough room in case for a small adapter for drives older than SATA, sturdy metal case, stand has superb rubber grips on feet, base slides in and out both ways from the cover.
Cons: External power source needed, Case gets SUPER HOT, no cooling fan installed, had to unscrew the circuit board from the case to install into the HDD before installing the HDD into the case, base does not slide smoothly through cover.
Other Thoughts: Comes with a driver disk (not needed), 4 screws for securing drive in case and 2 screws to secure cover to base of case (comes in bag with the other 4 screws which are bigger so don't confuse them), a puny user's manual (1 note paper sized paper), a power cord, and BEST OF ALL, A SCREWDRIVER!READ FULL REVIEW
