GARMIN 4.3

1 out of 5 eggs Garmin nuvi touch screen easily cracks 01/07/2012

This review is from: GARMIN 4.3" GPS Navigation with Lifetime Traffic & Map Updates

Pros: Works as advertised while it worked.

Cons: Screen cracked while traveling. Rendered nuvi useless. Garmin customer service said touch screen breakage not covered under warranty.

Other Thoughts: Just not worth the cost if the company will not do right by the customer when a problem occurs. I immediately replaced the Garmin with a Magellan.

Vantec NexStar 3 3.5
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Easily detected by Windows XP Pro SP3. Works as advertised (no surprises). Inexpensive backup solution. Free extra USB cable it came with was a bonus.

Cons: No cons.

Other Thoughts: Everyone should have a backup solution of some type. External USB drives are a good way to go.

BIOSTAR TForce TF7025-M2 AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 7025 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

2 out of 5 eggs Doesn't always detect boot SATA HD 05/30/2008

This review is from: BIOSTAR TForce TF7025-M2 AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 7025 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: The MB works as expected after the OS (Vista Business Ed.) boots.

Cons: Doesn't detect boot SATA HD reliably. Usually, on a normal PC, you turn on the power switch and the PC boots. With this Biostar TF7025-M2 MB, after it informs you know that the OS couldn't be found, you have to turn the power switch off and on quickly and it will then procede to boot to the OS. I don't see this problem fully addressed on the Biostar website.

Other Thoughts: I applied the updated bios and fixes DL'd from the Biostar web site and it didn't fix the problem. Applying Windows Vista SP1 fixed the problem temporarily but the problem reappeared. If I built this PC for someone I would have had to replace the MB.
