ASUS GeForce GTX 970 STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready SLI Support G-SYNC Support Video Card
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: overall high quality card, can run anything thrown at usually sell above 60fps even on highest setting.
strix software is easy to use and you can easily configure the card on the fly and switch between different settings for OC and just fan control
The twin fans make air circulation around card very nice. vram section never warms up and gpu cools quickly

Cons: Default fan settings run a little hot for my preference, won't kick in until 60°C which isn't ideal with the case I have but can change that around as needed.

Mine has a capacitor whine that whenever card gets above 55/60° will make an audible noise.

The fan over GPU chip had a blade fly off one day while it was running a week or so back

Other Thoughts: Overall very nice card, will definitely be getting a 2nd when I transition into 4k monitors. Seams like I may have just gotten a bad apple the first time.

Will update after I've contacts Asus

Mad Catz R.A.T.5 Gaming Mouse for PC and Mac - Matte Black
  • neweggOwned For: more than 1 year

3 out of 5 eggs Good Mouse 06/27/2014

This review is from: Mad Catz R.A.T.5 Gaming Mouse for PC and Mac - Matte Black

Pros: *adjustable
*surprisingly good feel
*easy to adjust dpi settings
*nice software
*looks cool
*scrol-wheel is great

Cons: *The side buttons have started dying pretty quickly
*I don't know if mine is defective or not, but even with software no program will detect movement of the horizontal scroll wheel
*Mouse will stop moving in one direction fairly often (either up/down or left/right) I would assume from a slight amount of gunk getting in it, I use a mouse-pad and keep it clean. never had this issue with another mouse

Other Thoughts: I don't think if I would recommend this to someone else for full price, but it has served its purpose better than other mice I have had. Would have been better off putting the money towards something else

5 out of 5 eggs Great Keyboard 06/27/2014

This review is from: RAZER DeathStalker USB Gaming Keyboard

Pros: *Razer software is easy to use and 9/10 times is highly reliable
*Keys feel and look great
*Havent used it but the option to turn off the led backlighting is good to have
*well spaced keys
*Gaming mode does what you want it to, you can customize what keys are disabled and it stops programs like Skype from alt-tabbing you
*doesn't slide all over the place with use
*hand rest is effective
*have yet to have any wrist pain or issues from the keyboard
*can see key levels at low viewing angles(useful when slouching, you know you do it)
*Keys look and feel exact same after 6 months of heavy use(including wasd keys)
*font used on keys is pretty cool
*works with or without software
*macro system is easy to use and worth dooing with they're software

Cons: * you can see the internal support cross on the windows key if you look at it close enough

Other Thoughts: Got mine on black Friday sale, worth every cent. only wish i had gotten it sooner. Well worth the price whether on sale or not. I would gladly purchase this keyboard again at base price.
