This review is from: Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition CO-9050009-WW 140mm High Airflow Case Fan
Pros: - Very quiet
- Looks great
- nice cable
- move a decent amount of air
Cons: The rubber mounting does not work well with screws.
Two of the rubber screw holes ripped/tore out due to it flexing to much when I was screwing it into my case. I now only have 2 screw mounts left and luckily they are opposite of each other so it is attached to my case firmly.
Other Thoughts: Because of this I bought 2 more cougar fans instead of corsair ones, which are great but do not look as nice.
I contacted corsair about this problem about 2ish weeks ago and then never contacted me back.
Pros: Better cooling than my previous corsair h50.
I have a FX-8120 and I have a nice 4GHz overclock with this and the fans set to low. It idles around 26~27c and the temps max around 55c.
The stock fan is actually pretty good. I have it running on "silent mode" in my bios and I still get great temps.
Cons: I hate the mounting. It is not that hard but you are forced to hold the cooler over the cpu with thermal paste on and flip it all over to screw in the back plate from the bottom.
Other Thoughts: I see some people saying it is defective, however I would have to say that it is user error.
There is no problem with ram clearance. I have G.Skill
ripjaws ram and there was about a quarter inch of clearance. Also You can move the fan higher or lower on the heatsink if you need to. The heatsink does not actually cover the ram just the fan does, which is great so the ram can be removed without removing the entire heatsink. Also if you have huge ram, you always have the option to move the fan to the other side.
My case is the coolermaster haf 922 and I have about 2 inches of extra room on top of the heatsink
Pros: -Very fast.
-size (not tiny but i did not want a small flash drive)
Other Thoughts: Gets warm when using via USB3.0 but not hot.
Transfer speeds are 95MBps read and 45MBps write in benchmarks.
In real world performance is a little faster. I moved a 7GB video and the average write speed was around 60-65MBps.
