Kingston ValueRAM 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Desktop Memory Model KVR533D2N4/1G

Pros: Kingston RAM has always been reliable. It is easy to install and is compatible with virtually any mobo. Great products always from Kingston. This is one of my favorites along with COrsair and Crucial RAM.

Cons: none

Overall Review: none

GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD7 AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 XL ATX AMD Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD7 AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 XL ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Fast, easy to set up and has tons of great features, including 8 USB ports (2 of which are 3.0).

Cons: Ordered all the components to build my husband his new computer - a bit of a "dream" machine. Order was placed in late August (2010), built the computer in late November (delayed because of my scheduling difficulties). The motherboard died three days ago - just stopped. I replaced all the other components from another computer I built for me a few months earlier, so I knew they all worked. Nothing...

Overall Review: I noticed on Newegg's site that this item is no longer available or is discontinued. Just my luck!! Not to say the warranty basically sucks... So, now I have to try to get ahold of Gigabyte and send it to them - assuming they'll even RMA it - wait for a new board... My poor husband will be without a computer for close to a month - at least... That just sucks! I am very disappointed with Newegg and with Gigabyte. I thought their quality WAS better than it was with this mobo.

Apple MacBook Pro

Mac Notebook
Mac Notebook

Pros: I have built several systems and am quite knowledgeable at both hardware and software. I have 5 PCs at home and 3 notebooks - PCs/Windows. Purchased a MacBook Pro this summer and was so pleasently suprised as to the performance and reliability of the new Macs that I am going to buy myself an iMac in the next month - Christmas present to myself. The new OSx is amazingly reliable and easy to adapt to as the new OS is VERY user friendly - you can't NOT learn how to use these Macs. I have the newest OSx - Leopard 10.6...something. It runs like a dream! I maxed out the hard drive - a 250gig to the point of having less than a half a gig left and it ran just as smoothly as if I had nothing on the computer. The Macs are not only user friendly, reliable but are NOT prone to the amount and ease of virii as Windows PCs. Worth the money - especially at this price!

Cons: Wish it had more USB ports - as mine has only 2!! Very proprietory and software/hardware - way too expensive. So do the research on what you are ultimately looking to do with this system.

Overall Review: Nice that the Mac systems don't come with a bunch of bloated softwares that I'd and most people, would never use...and would just be a waste of hard drive space. It is a big bonus that I don't waste so much time fixing this or that as I do on Windows PCs and I build solid machines with the best rated/reliable parts. Go figure!

OLYMPUS Stylus 1010 Blue 10.1 MP 7X Optical Zoom Digital Camera
OLYMPUS Stylus 1010 Blue 10.1 MP 7X Optical Zoom Digital Camera

Pros: compact, light, excellent photos for a compact camera with lots of options. I took night shots, sunset pictures, action shots and am very impressed with overall performance. I even took a 30 second "movie" and all was fine (don't know what earlier reviewer was talking about regarding not being able to take movies with non-proprietory memory cards) because that surely isn't a bit true...sounds like someone didn't read directions or use correct settings). Lots of settings/options!!

Cons: none that I can think of - yet.

Overall Review: Pretty good point and shoot. I have a nikon d200 and canon xti but wanted a pocket camera that I could bring to the beach or anywhere and not worry about ruining it and losing big money. This is a great camera that anyone can use - beginner to pro as it is a nice compliment to anyone's arsenal.

Antec 900 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower computer case

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Upgraded USB 3.0
Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Upgraded USB 3.0

Pros: I have built several computers and this is one of the best cases out there. It is very nice case - plenty of room for just about any mobo and power supply. It is so much better that this case permits you to put the PS on the bottom as this makes it a bit neater to tuck extra wires in the empty drive bays. This case comes with PLENTY of fans to keep the temps nice and cool. It also comes with a few tie-downs to help keep cables neat. I also like the larger screws - makes it easier to get at the drive bays and the case itself.

Cons: The case is a bit on the heavy side, but that's fine considering how solid this case is... I wish this came with brackets for the smaller drives - such as card readers and (ummm..who uses these today??) floppy drives.

Overall Review: Plenty of fans. Very sweet case - fun to work with! Would highly recommend this one. I read lots of reviews on this site and other computer sites and this one is rated just about everywhere with 5 stars!!
