Nyrius Aries NPCS549 Prime Wireless HDMI Transmitter & Receiver for HD 1080p 3D Video Streaming
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: easy to understand assembly and testing

Cons: Doesn't seem to work with iPad 2 or iPad 4 output - connected to HDMI output on iPads (the intended use of acquiring the kits), and it does not seem to work. I've tried both iPad 2 and iPad 4 and with both Aries kits that I ordered. They don't seem to work. It tends to work with a Mac Mini, but not 100% so I would tend to think that perhaps the iPads may have some issue creating standard HDMI output (although they have worked on every HDMI TV and monitor I have tried), and the Aries has some minor to moderate signal problems.

Leather Carrying Folio Flip Stand Case for Apple iPad 2 2nd Gen (Black)
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: cheap, multi-position stand, general protection for iPad

Cons: magnets hold cover closed but do not sleep the iPad, corners are not protected from fall much better than the Smart Cover which gives no protection, very cheap stitching

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST31500341AS 1.5TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Good storage and data transfer speed

Cons: Upgraded firmware quickly due to warnings, bu it still seems to momentarily freeze occasionally. Wasn't worth it.

Other Thoughts: I wasn't going to submit a review, but a recent email ad pushed me to do it. The subject line for a 1-day special email listed a 1.5TB Western Digital drive while this Seagate was the actual drive on sale. Errors happen but I have to wonder since this model has been getting negative or mixed reviews. People watching hard drive sales have been shying away from it so having a "hook" in the email declaring Western Diital is suspiciously beyond coincidental.
